I think it will be very difficult after such a long period of not playing. Hopefully it works in our favour but will definitely need some of the injuries to have cleared up and no problems for those who had covid. Caine will be a huge miss so hopefully Pez is fit again. Keighley are going well so I think it’s more hoping we do well rather than any kind of expectation of winning with it being our first game back.

Seems to be catching up this non playing 5 lads released one going to Kells I know of, but another incoming from Newcastle 👍🏻

The way that NCL season seems to be going he'll end up playing even less rugby at Kells than Town

True mate. The Cumbrian NCL has been a farce.

Its such a tough spot for the club ideally you want a big squad cos being down to bare bones like we have in the past is no good but then its an impossible task to keep lads happy when theyre not playing and we must have 10 lads who've fell in that bracket through nobodies fault.

Wouldn't just say the NCL season as the Cumbria league going same way, teams calling their 2nd team games off due to covid but then their 1st team playing on same day/night when if it was covid whole club should of been stood down. Easy solution when teams can't get a team!

Putting the likes of Kells Brow & Egremont in a local league with likes of Hensingham, Barrow Island, Millom is more of a reason why games are getting called of. Some teams are using Covid as a easy get out, but you can’t really complain as they are just blow out games. Kells 2nd team have had one game called of due to opposition calling game of due to covid. Last night was there 4th game in as many weeks and will be playing Elbra Saturday.

The concept of local ncl leagues in right wrt reduced travel cost, bigger gates and bar takings but the gulf in class will lead to a number of one sided games. Brow and the mont have been around the top of the ncl premier league for the last couple of years whereas millom and askam (who have now dropped out) were mid table of division three and the gulf is just too big.

A good webcast with Chris on the Facebook page explaining the departures. Unfortunate, but when young lads aren’t getting any game time perfectly understandable.
Welcome to the club Dave Weetman, hopefully can enjoy his time here, interesting that Chris tried to sign him pre season but he went to France. A shame Stevie is out for the season but good to hear Ell is close to a return. A shame Blaine isn’t available this weekend, his speed and quickness of thought would have been useful against a big pack. Hopefully a good performance. UTT

Lewis Brown signing for Kells, lad from Cockermouth prop. Think them 3 named gone, top of that the other prop curwen left aswell.

Lewis was pictured at training last night? Weather is going to be a shocker on Sunday. Can always Keighley pitch being a paddy field in the rain. Hope it still goes ahead
