My view, this has been hanging over us for a long time, we accept the punishment, move on, and concentrate on solidifying that top 2 spot.

Agreed. Imagine how frustrating it would have been had we won on Sunday, only to have a win deducted from our total within 48 hours for this.

Alleged social gathering?. Poor choice of words that especially when the police have CCTV and pictures were on social media.

Again, as it's a percentage, how would it have affected a win yesterday at all? 100% is 100%.

They would have still worked the percentage out based on the 2-point deduction. For instance our actual winning percentage this season is 92.86% but because of the 2 point deduction it's now showing on the RFL league table as 85.71%.

The deduction has impacted on our percentage. We'd be at over 90% with one loss otherwise, and had we won on Sunday, we'd no longer be at 100% following this ruling.

Edit: beaten to it by TPH.

That is not my understanding.

We have had a win deducted, not a loss imposed.

14 wins from 14 or 13 wins from 13 is still 100% had we won yesterday.

13 wins and a loss at 92.86% is now 12 wins and a loss which is 92.3%.

Sorry, Ive just seen TPH post too. My apologies.

In that case, they have recorded our win as a loss.

No worries, I can understand why you'd have thought that.

We've been deducted two points, not a win. I know that sounds like semantics, but the final % tally that decides standings is based on points, not wins (even though we have kind of been told that points don't exist any more!).

It is semantics, isn't it? If the game counts as "Played" by us, but we got zero points, it's a loss as far as calculating percentages is concerned.

But yes, I accept your point.

I wonder of Batley have a case for claiming the points.

Most irregular to have a fixture where both teams lost.

If those 12 players were not allowed to play, presumably the game would have been cancelled because Fev had so many players out under covid rules.

Batley should not be awarded the points, but I think there is an argument for the table to show it as a game not played in Batley's case.

I think this is right. We didn't win so should not receive the points or %, but if the win is removed from Fev's record the loss should be removed from ours.

A lot more pressure on Fev now. Fax are 8 wins a row. Still both got some tricky fixtures. We need to finish top 2 for better chance of grand final and if Top 2 places are given promotion should the new structure be agreed.
