Leaving Wakey.

Thought there was something in the wind when he slated the forwards and the Club not spending, after last weeks game.

There were strong rumours of a contract extension and with him talking about next season’s squad, it literally blew people’s mind that he was gonna get a new contract.

Always sad but the guy had to go!

"He has also never been given the opportunity to spend the full salary cap. To truly compete these days, clubs need either a wealthy benefactor or large crowds and substantial off field income, none of which Chris has ever enjoyed here. At times, it must have felt like coaching with both hands tied behind his back."

Sounds terrible. Michael Carter should really take that up with the person responsible for that.

Who do you think?

No idea but it certainly won't be a top coach. No decent coach in their right mind would go to Wakefield. It will be someone starting out or some coach who can't get a head coach gig at somewhere decent.

Seriously how would this from Michael Carter appeal to any coach:

“Sadly, the last two years have been difficult for many reasons with injuries and COVID decimating us at times. There have been numerous occasions where we could have sought a postponement but played on with weakened teams, and ultimately that has reflected on Chris. He has also never been given the opportunity to spend the full salary cap. To truly compete these days, clubs need either a wealthy benefactor or large crowds and substantial off field income, none of which Chris has ever enjoyed here. At times, it must have felt like coaching with both hands tied behind his back.

Yeah, he did mention 4 new recruits for next year.  No names though iirc.

How many Chris Chester threads do we really need?

Not very inspiring, and lets not forget the ongoing problem with that dump of a ground

I sort of read that as Carter distancing himself from the board's decision, although it is hard to see how he can.

Anyway I think Chester is a decent fella so best of luck to him.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.
