Looking forward to this one.

Rovers have had one or two memorable victories at Headingley in the not too distant past, who was that lively full back with pace to burn who, I seem to recall, helped them to a win against the odds there maybe 16/18 years ago?

I have this idea he was a Kiwi called Michael Watson who maybe also played for Halifax.

My memory fails me here, anyone help?

Anyway, I'll go for Leeds 23 Rervers 22.

Edit Found him! It was Dave Watson who signed for Hull KR in the 1990/91 season, so I was only 12/14 years out!

I was going to say Kiwi Dave Watson till I got to the end of your post. He also played for Bradford. A bit of a maverick, but a good player, very elusive. If I remember correctly he had some off the field issues.

More recently in a excruciatingly tense game Rovers went to Leeds in 2018 in the qualifiers and won 36-38. 13 tries in all and the lead changing hands 6 times the game was in the balance until the final seconds. Craig Hall who was in a rich vein of form at the time scored 3 tries.

I'm hoping for the same result although whether my nerves could stand a game like that again is doubtful. TBH a play off for a play off is important but nothing compared to those dreaded qualifiers. Those 'middle 8's' were titillating viewing for the casual TV viewer but absolute gut wrenching agony for the participants with relegation on the line. TBH I think you have to have been involved to know how truly awful it was.

Anyway back to the present. Leeds have Hurrell back who is always a threat but they will still have a few missing, Rovers with Hall and Minikin added to the injury list are pretty much in the same boat.

Both clubs will still have have competitive teams so it should be a good encounter. I can't call it TBH so maybe both clubs will be happy to see a Warrington win on Thursday.

Absolutely hated it when Leeds were in the qualifiers and to be fair we were never in w much jeopardy so god knows what it was like for fans of those deep in it - horrible concept and glad it’s gone.

I honestly hope Warrington do both clubs a favour and beat Cas, would make Friday far more enjoyable, thankfully Warrington seem to want to win the game and have announced a decent squad

Cant call the Leeds v Robins game at all

1500 tickets sold by Rovers so far for the trip over to Leeds, going to be rocking on the West Terrace

Plus Craven Streat’s open for a pre-match party from 2pm before people head off in the buses - so god knows what state they’ll all be in 😂😂😂

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

Well another powell coached side bottle job has taken the pressure off this game, can relax and enjoy it now 🙂

Aye, prefer Wigan though - and a higher finish for the record books - so still definitely skin in this one

I’ll be honest I don’t think either Leeds or Hull KR will get further than next week but as long as both give it a good crack, there’ll be more emotion in the Leeds camp tomorrow i think but that  can sometimes work against a team look at cas tonight

Rovers are confirmed in the top 6 now which I have to be happy with after the wooden spoon of last year.

The other 5 teams all expect to be in the play offs but for us it's a welcome surprise.

I hope we go all out for a win at Leeds and secure 5th and a visit to Wigan. 5th would be brilliant and we've already beaten Wigan twice this year so who knows.

Whatever happens this has been a season of major progress on and off the field for Hull Kingston Rovers.

Hull KR are doing some fabulous work on and off the field, fair play to them

You must be delighted that the only change to last season's top-six is that Rovers have replaced Hull. Onwards and upwards.

Yep, the atmosphere on telly looks good. Though it's better when they do it as an 'outside' production rather than behind the screen like the last one. Carney and Co struggling to hear each other the roar in the pregame is actually good

Leeds' favourite position. Title winners from 5th in 2011 and 2012. Maybe not under Agar....

Agar is in most ways a better coach than Mcdermott (BM was a more emotional, storyteller of a coach whereas Agar is the master tactician) but the teams and situations are very different here.

If Leeds win it from fifth this year with who Agar has available to him it will be the most heroic play off performance ever. But it's vanishingly unlikely.

Yes it would be the least likely of all the lower end play off wins Leeds have done..... Stranger things have happened though and certain  players are due back so let's see

I don't think you can call held when a player is hurtling towards the sideline at a 45 degree angle.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Joke of a decision.
