Futtocks
Have we had a thread about this already? A search didn't uncover one. Anyway, how about a thread where we share and recommend podcasts/vodcasts that we think are enjoyable and/or interesting? I'll kick off with a few: Stevie's Brain Rot: https://brainrot.libsyn.com/website - for people who enjoy Eighties Horror flicks, the cheesier the better. Ringheads: https://directory.libsyn.com/shows/view/id/ringheads - two comedy writers who really got into Tolkien during lockdown. My Teenage Band: https://play.acast.com/s/my-teenage-band - exactly as cringeworthy as you think it it would be. The Alchemist
The Socially Distanced Podcast https://www.distantpod.com/ Sports podcast but very humerous and not always about sport...welsh focus but treat all sports equally Even though our utter, unquestioned dominance in the sport has ended, all Wiganers believe that we are really just indulgently letting the other teams win for a while in order to make it more interesting. hindle xiii
I think I've mentioned these on the What Are You Listening To? thread a while ago. I regularly listen to: Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster. Grilling with Simon Rimmer. The Doctor's Kitchen with Dr Rupy Aujla. I also look at the odd episode of: RHLSTP with Richard Herring, Dangerous Minds with Ed Stafford, Films To Be Buried With with Brett Goldstein, The Comedian's Comedian with Stuart Goldsmith, Happy Place with Fearne Cotton, and Out To Lunch with Jay Rayner. Some good suggestions there - I check out RHLSTP and Jay Rayner's podcasts, depending on the guests. I also enjoy Mark Kermode's podcast if he's not being too worthy and arty. Tommygilf
We Have Ways of Making You Talk with Al Murray and James Holland is really good and has a huge number of episodes. It's WW2 content kept me company on many a good walk over lockdown. It also has a vibrant online community ("the afflicted") and last weekend hosted a festival dedicated to WW2. A sister podcast to that which is very good as well, Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook "The Rest is History" explores a huge range of historical subjects; events, themes, periods, nations, all are covered in this show. Both continue to grow from strength to strength. My friends all like Atletico Mince too with Bob Mortimer.
