Anymore re signings on the horizon

I fear Coolie could be right, whilst I ABSOLUTELY KNOW I'll get shot down here, I can't believe (and I won't be the only one) that after a top 4 finish and such a fantastic set of performances on the whole we didn't have all our ducks in a row for a rapid get go, instead being left behind whilst lesser placed clubs (no disrespect intended) and those on a level are filling their rosters. I feel that, unless there REALLY are a couple of class signings waiting to be announced, we shouldn't still be out there shopping whilst seeing other clubs apparently catching us up.

Deary me , you need to have a word with yourself . Why don’t you just trust the club and let them crack on ? How do you know we haven’t signed players but for various reasons they just haven’t been announced ?
I very rarely come on here but 99% of your posts come across as mainly negative and whinging . Give it a rest man . I don’t see featherstone announcing loads of signings yet do you ? Even though they have signed quite a few . Be patient …

Slightly off topic, wasn't it Knights v Jamaica tonight? BBC Sport AND LoveRL tell me no fixtures. Anybody got score and did Greg get in?

Knights won 50+ reggae boys 4, Johnson played, Broadbent scored two good tries.

Are you bragging or complaining though Coolie?

What are your genuine thoughts on the props you have signed?

Looking on tonight’s performance he’ll need to work on his fight to get up off the floor… he just laid there when the Jamaican side needed a roll on…

A few current and ex Batley lads  in the Jamaican side Tomlinson Johnson Bravo Farrell Snr and Alex Brown plus Jack Broadbent in the England set up… I think Jamaica will give Scotland a test next week with Buchanan vs Johnson been the main part hopefully

back to the rumour mill 2 forwards will do for me and see what’s happens pre season…

You really are an annoying moron. Your posts are one of the reasons I’ve stopped using the forum.

We’ve re-signed 19 current players following a successful season. Plus a couple of quality new additions. Some clubs haven’t even got to double figures yet. Trust the coach and trust the club. I’m sure they know what we still need for next year. Yes, a barnstorming Prop would be perfect, but it’s got to be the right one, who also wants to play for us on the money that’s available. Just because another club has signed a player that you think might have been a useful addition it doesn’t mean that our club is failing suddenly and falling backwards. You have no clue of the details or who our club are talking to. Nor also does the club need to satisfy your constant need for updates, information and essentially attention.

As fans we all pay our money to comment, both positively and negatively, that’s our right. With you however it’s constant criticism of everything. It’s almost like you are actively looking for fault. And it’s incredibly monotonous now.

I honestly do not think Jamacia would give Dewsbury a game, they do not have anyone leading them on the field. Most of them at best are average championship player.

There were some odd positional choices too which didn't help, Ashton Golding is a decent player, but a hooker he is not.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion no need ripping in like that whether wrong or right personally abuse is a bit much to the point he deletes his post... This is supposed to be fun and banter.. Without views from all sides the forum becomes full of tunnel vision cretins 🤔🤔

Thanks Coolie, a supporter in the opposition camp. As you say, it's a forum of opinions. KTF I put money in to everything the club, forum and BISSA runs except the War Chest for my reasons, so reckon I'm entitled as much as the next man to air my opinion. Because someone else's opinion varies from mine I don't post to rip that differing opinion apart.

But we must be in a decent position anyway on the re/signings, better than losing half a dozen like it the past,we must be in for an even better 2022 with the players jelling even more by staying here at the dogs, couple more big lads will help but i for one am very happy, look forward to seeing a couple of new faces for boxing day maybe. how the hell folks can beef after season we have just had is bonkers.:kolobok_kiss3:

I think this is the point. Whenever we have had successful seasons in the past we sit back and watch other teams strip us of our better players. This season we have been proactive and signed them up. This is the one big difference to other seasons, and where the club have got their 'ducks in a row.' I am OK people beefing, but look at the facts first.

Yep, everyone is entitled to an opinion and sometimes it does get grating when there is consistent negativity, but insults and name calling have no place here, it oversteps the line and there's no need for it.

I agree with you, DD, ducks are certainly more organised than the past few seasons, its a case of strengthening the squad now in certain positions. But I'm happy that we aren't chucking cash about. As a Leeds United supporter, I'm well aware of the years of pain and suffering that can cause!!!

Every club has "woe is me" supporters that's just how life is, we've got more than our fair share over the valley🤔 whether you view it as half empty or half full is in their personality, bumped into one of our fans in town and all that come out of his gob was negative, negative, negative... Even capturing at least 2 of featherstones million pound squad couldn't raise any positivity, Batley will go OK I'm sure.. Not for one minute I think you'll emulate this seasons outstanding effort, teams have strengthened Halifax, Bradford have pushed the boat out, York will no way be as pap as last season.. And there is Leigh.. And we know there power. 6th will be Batley's ceiling this season

For me it’s all down the calibre of player we’ve signed for 2022… maybe Lingard wants people who want to play for Batley (not just the coin) like the past few years…. Next year we won’t far off if we have a good pre season again and build off last year and more people return to watch us

Well, I've seen all the responses; my point ultimately is that nobody progresses by standing still. You come to a point where what you have gets you to the point where you are. To get to the point where you next want to be requires an improving situation and I would hate to see us putting pressure and relying on those who did what they did to do even more. Positions where in the past we have made do and mend (anybody who's been at The Mount any length of time must acknowledge that we have a long tradition of doing so) need proper application. Players need to be specialised in their position, not continually 'filling in'. If the coach identifies that then it needs to be addressed in good time. Yes, I know the club may well have approached dozens of players and yes I know that other clubs are also doing the same and players make a decision one way or the other, I'd just like one or two of the very useful ones to choose us. We have to continually being brave little Batley, always aiming to punch heavily above our weight because that's how we're perceived and yes that's down to the camaraderie of those we have and their pride but just now and again it would be nice for outsiders to rate us. If and it's still a big IF, as the RFL couldn't shoot a pig in a barrel, SL2 comes off we know that we have to finish no lower than 6th to be in it, which necessitates continued improvement. That's the main reason why I said what I did about ducks in a row. I know the difficulties which face our BoD day in day out to keep Batley fighting and the high regard in which they are held amongst friends and opponents alike. 100% of folk will never agree 100%, that's what a forum is for but remember we're still 100% Batley.
