In 1998 I bought six Tissot watches cash in hand from a bloke called Iestyn

I'm fairly sure Dennis Moran wouldn't get through customs these days with the number of Tissot watches Dave Hadfield sent his way between 2001 and 2006ish.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I actively want Wigan Athletic to lose, because a lot of their fans are anti-RL.

Me too with FC Halifax Town

I’ve never given a job to anyone who lists yawnion in their interests, in fact a few years ago I deliberately let the captain of one of the local yawnion clubs get to the last interview stage whilst never intending to offer him a job.

Suave, sophisticated Jeremy Gusgott of TinBath and Ingland Yawnion used to take questions about Yawnion from the Public on the BBC Sport website and so I asked him the following question:

'Hi Jeremy,

With Union players now being fitter, taller and faster than when the game first started, there is obviously less room on the pitch for tries to be scored.   What do you think about my suggestion of making the game better by taking the flankers out of the game, scrapping lineouts and mauls in an effort to make the game faster with more tries scored?'

He choose not to answer my question..... I wonder why?

A lot of (FC) Halifax Town fans used to support Fax at Thrum Hall. Maybe ask yourself why they don't any longer.

Meh, I’m not really all that bothered about them. I know they call Fax “lodgers” which is exactly what they also are.

Given the pitiful size of Fax's crowds (down to a hard core of about 1,200 now?), I would be bothered about them. Squatters, I believe, is the term you're looking for.

Fine, but like I say I’m not bothered about the soccerball lot

When union was in its` heyday here in the early 2000`s some of the League radio chat shows used to be forced to have a union pundit on board to take calls from union enthusiasts as union was thought to be broadening its` public appeal.

One very popular League talk back show had one p. ftzsmmns on board.

I rang in once and asked to talk to Peter, generally the ratio was about 50 calls for League, one union. He enthusiastically took my call.

I said; ' Peter how does rugby union make a game that only goes for 80 minutes feel like it goes for 3 hours ?".

There was a stunned silence as ftzsmmns attempted to gather his thoughts while all the League commentators roared laughing.

The union pundit on League shows lasted about 6 months.

The only obscure thing I do is frequent this forum.  I don't interact on any other forum on the internet, even though I have other interests outside of RL

Same here, this is my only social media of any kind. Such a great forum, 99% of people are respectful of each other, there’s no bad language, and it’s superb banter.

If you want a decent Rugby League item -for Christmas- try London Transport Museum Shop-see website.-listed as a set of Rugby Mugs.

Just got the presentation box  set of 4 decent sized mugs each bearing RL cup final posters 1929-33 -going to use mugs and stash memorabillia in box which is decorated inside as well.

Also repro posters.

Good to see Rugby League World coming back in January. I can now start again to  use it to cover rugby union magazines on the newsagents shelves,

That was my first thought. Unfortunately “You won't find Rugby League World in the shops, we will only available on subscription in print or digital format as we take into account the changed post-Covid landscape to to deliver the very best quality Rugby League reading direct to your door.” - I have the staff in WHSmith busy with just Forty20 but I have now moved on from only covering the kick n clap mags to American Football also.

Top Tip I've found is to use Nuts or Zoo Magazine if RLW isn't available.

Or move them onto the top shelf behind Club International or Mayfair.
