England Jersey reduced for this weekend

If it's a chevron, some will moan it's too Saints like, and for hoops, Wigan.

I think that is overplayed. I hate Wigan RLFC with a burning passion, but if England had a red and white hooped shirt that would be fine by me.

Especially as Wigan rarely play in red & white hoops these days !

Sadly true for you. A double red chevron wouldn't be too Saintsy either.

Anything is better than the awful flag design they’ve gone back to,pick one & stick to that basic design with subtle changes every 2 years to aid sales.

I agree, but from experience that isn't Oxen's MO.

And they can probably get away with it at club level but I’d argue it’s a flawed policy for the national team.

I'm inclined to agree (although I'd rather they didn't do it at club level either).

A major positive is perhaps that because this is Oxen "punching up" with England RL is that we may see them try to actually see what is popular. I suspect the current flag shirt sales have been underwhelming and they will want something stronger going forwards.

The best England RL kit in my view was the 2013 WC shirt by ISC. That was essentially plain white but had very subtle design effects which gave it a hooped feel up close.

Also the one off red/white hoops worn I think in Melbourne was fantastic.

I noticed the lower back of the England shirts had Salboy on them yesterday, presumably that was due to French regulations around advertising gambling in sports, although the French seemed to have a betting company company top back of theirs so not sure how that works.

Anyway, Salboy appears to be a company jointly owned by Fred Done and someone called Simon Ismail, it specialises in property development and......private equity investment.

Now I could be putting 2 and 2 together here and getting 5 but......

That 2013 jersey was excellent.
