OK, its absurb that clubs will be starting pre season in the next few weeks and their fans dont know what they are competing for, how many teams……

Look, the new League 1 season is only 4 months away, fans need to book holidays and know whether they can go to Tesco on the third Sunday in June and err.......

Who says the clubs don’t know what’s happening?

Alan Kilshaw at Hunslet did an interview for their youtube channel yesterday and talking about the season said "we don't know how that looks at the moment, in terms of the number of teams we're up in the air. We're not going to play in Ottawa, whether they're going to play in the competition under a different banner, and then we don't know what promotion and relegation looks like".

So Hunslet at least don't seem to have the full picture.

The P&R uncertainty isn't specific to League 1, none of the 3 divisions know that yet - SL is even facing the insane prospect of 25% member clubs being relegated (3 down, 1 up to make 2x10).

Details are (allegedly) going to be out November/December.

it’s all a bit of a sad & pathetic joke really 🥲 It’s not just the teams that are in the dark, players are currently being offered contracts without knowing the structures of the leagues they are going to play in!

I’d be more concerned it what league 5/6 clubs end up in. I’m sure all clubs will know that.

What do people need to know? Isn't it business as usual until you are told different?

Well the club's will need to know the amount of funding (if any), number of teams in the division etc. as an absolute minimum, in order to piece together a budget. Without these two basics, budgeting is impossible and even more of a finger in the air job than usual. Currently players are being signed on contracts that may not have any hope of being fulfilled. Same can be said for the Championship too, but it's far more likely that teams won't continue next year in L1.

Yes absolutely I wouldnt want to run a business (and despite what people say that's what clubs are) without knowing what my budget or financial returns are likely to be

Any news on whether there is a Super League next year?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Aparently there will be a league 1 next season but nothing has been decided yet re:promotion etc. Decision was supposed to be made in October but as far as I know nothing. No one even knew about the Ottawa announcement!

Do you have a link to that info. Or are you fishing?
