It does indeed thankfully it is a minority of sports that go down that road.

RL tried it. But obviously no structure due to the product banking the monies and having a field day. Yet not placing any money back into the game and now wonder why they are up creek without a paddle.

Of course as an example, I will start with the UK Cricket,Football,RL,RU,Hockey,Basketball apologies for those sports I have omitted.

Feel free to survey the rest of the world but I still hold onto the hope that it’s not all based on monetary values otherwise Elon Musk would be leading the Tour de France every year.

Just on a point of reality, your assertion was 99% of sports use P+R.

So for every one that Damien comes up with, you need 99.  So far, you've managed six, so keep going.

Then we have the debatable point that your claim was based on "sports" as opposed to "competitions".  "Cricket" would cover all cricket in the world.  Clearly P+R doesn't apply to all cricket - no P+R in Australia, for instance - so your parameters are fundamentally flawed.

Only football. Cricket only has 2 divisions. RFU have suspended relegation for 3 years and will have strict requirements for promotion. So a club like Pirates won't go up unless they have a stadium with at least 10,000 capacity and financial stability. Soccer can stick with P/R because they have so much depth. Besides, the PL will be killed off when the big clubs get their Super League (and they will get it).
