Featherstone should rebrand to Yorkshire Rovers

There are 16 pro/semi-pro rugby league clubs in Yorkshire. No single one could successfully brand themselves as representing the whole county.

Besides, Featherstone have a wonderful history and it would be a great shame for that to be lost/diminished in any rebranding. Everyone loves a small town underdog...         ...don't they?!?

Not sure what happened during these incidents, but Tackle It is the RFLs anti-discrimination product.

Great to see something finally being done about them. A section of their fans are horrific. Worse than any other club in my experience.

Rebranding to Yorkshire will help Fev get rid of the small town image they have and give them an opportunity to attract a potential audience of over 5 million.

You need to think big.

Rebrand as European Rovers and play half the home games in the capital cities of Europe and in turn, for the other half of their home games, it will make Post Office Road a tourism hotspot for the tremendous European fanbase they will instantly acquire.

Tens of thousands of European fans will fly in each month to watch them play.

One of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal & West Ham should rebrand as "London & South East England" to outflank their rivals. Aston Villa should rebrand as West Midlands Conurbation. Juventus should rebrand as Piedmont. In the other code, Sale could rebrand as Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire, but perhaps "Granadaland" would be catchier.

The struggling little club that played in Ealing last season actually brand themselves as "London Broncos" and have the opportunity to attract a potential audience of over 8 million. They were attracting about 200 to their games last season, so I'm not sure you're the right one to be lecturing other clubs about how to get rid of a small-town image.

Fairly standard in UEFA competitions. Neither Rangers nor Celtic have the word Glasgow in their name, Sporting Lisbon don't have the word Lisbon/Lisboa in theirs. Plenty more examples.

I guess the non-facetious point is that people will support teams with the names of small places they don't live in. It's hard to find any recent examples of successful name changes in the UK. What matters more is actually doing something to attract a wider audience. Fev would probably have more success with a 'free entry to people wearing flat caps' day than just changing their name.

They could get Lucy Meacock to be the stadium announcer.

Our name is famous. Think of what we have accomplished.  People from surrounding areas come to us . In the old days I used to monitor trains running from railways stations to Featherstone full of suuporters. The size of the town is not important it is the way it is used with its assets to attract people into the greound and surrounmding areas. KEEP  the name and do some successful marketing and  use the land and resources to the best of our ability. If I was using Featherstone assets I would diversify and go down other paths of income raising. Use your products to the best of their ability. What do people spend their money on? Find the output and go for it. Name change? Forget it. We are a pround club with great traditions. UTR.

I have a feeling that Sporting club Portugal is the actual name of the club we know as Sporting Lisbon.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.
