HawkMan Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 (edited) What's the fascination with Luke Littler? Is it because he comes from RL country and he vaguely said something about following the sport. Sky are advertising a programme they've produced with him about his love for Manchester United, and his United heroes. If Littler came from Wolverhampton nobody here would give a t*** about him. Yes he's a great player, destroyed Smith and looked masterful against the World champ, but he's not going to do anything to popularise TGG, sadly. Edited May 24, 2024 by HawkMan 1

DavidM Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Incredible . It was very tight then after the break he just blew him away , and this is the world champion and dominant force in the game . Amazing talent 1

graveyard johnny Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 this grand prix of darts is quite entertaining - starting with a group stage ( luke humphries not getting through) leading to a knockout phase - littler seems to be on fire and is now the bookies favourite 1 see you later undertaker - in a while necrophile

He had a Wire season ticket for years and invited some of their players to watch him in the final in January. He’s not just vaguely said something about liking the sport. Also tbf it isn’t his job to try to make rugby league popular, and presumably Sky will get more eyeballs on a programme about him and Man Utd than one about him and Warrington Wolves.

It was a sad tournament really. I followed it a bit two years ago, when Thibault Tricole made the final and it seemed a bit better then. I caught a video of Lim in the QF and the place was empty. One look at the tournament and it's a lot of 80 averages and the odd 90. It's very telling that the boys event has not dissimilar averages. Can't see him winning it, but you never know. He's genuinely a phenomenon. Since I started following darts closely during lockdown, there hasn't really been a consistent dominant force like Taylor was. I think I picked it up just after the MVG years, because he was always like the residual star as if everybody kept expecting him to come good at every tournament. I think Littler could become that dominant force. It's obviously early days but he just seems go effortlessly natural and like he can hit what he wants. Maximus Decimus Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 So the PDC have setup a fantasy Darts thing for the Worlds, where you pick a team of players from the tournament and get points etc. It seems pretty good and you have to pick a mix of players. Also the points scoring seems like there is a lot to pick up. It always frustrates me on Fantasy PL, that you only really score for goals, assists and clean sheets barring token points for playing. I'm thinking of setting up a TotalRL League for the tournament starting Sunday. Pop a like if you'd be interested in joining it and I'll set it up if I get enough. Luke Humphries has been better in the last 12 months but Littler has been phenomenal and will get better. I think Bellingham probably deserves it most for what he achieved at Real Madrid
Eddie Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 I was surprised to see Mike De Decker go out in his first match this afternoon, I’d had a small bet on him to win the whole thing, thought 40/1 was good value. Who do people think will win on 3rd Jan? I’m going Luke Humphries again.
