Well the players would have some say in the matter, as would the SL club, so no-one is ''forcing'' anyone to do anything. I'd suggest, if a player declines to play for the club choosing him from the list, then he'd have to stand down and not play that weekend. 

It's not a dictatorial tyranny, it's a system of cooperation, for mutual benefit.

I'm suggesting that the cosy relationships you refer to above, should be promoted, created and maintained with clubs across the whole of the league, not confined to near neighbours.

Lastly, your phrase, ''race to the bottom'' sounds like something you've been dieing to say, since you heard it in some boozy argument between two pseudo-intellectual drunken knobs down the pub.

It is completely out of place in the context of this discussion and bears no relationship to what might really happen, if such a draft was implemented. Why do you persist? Oh strike that last question, I've already answered it.
