AL FALL
Just received the sad news of the death of Jim Leach. Oldham Saint Anne's clubman for near on sixty years. Although a non-player Jim was involved in the club through friendship of players who he knew and socialised with when he was a young man. Taking on the fulltime roll of stats man, match reports to the press and also attending N.C.L. and Oldham local league meetings. He also made numerous contributions on this forum under the name of Mr Smeaton. Jim was a old school, dedicated, unselfish member of Oldham Saint Anne's Rugby Club, also a personal friend and will be greatly missed by all in the rugby league family. barbara henderson
So very sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Leach, who dedicated so many years to the Club. It was a pleasure working alongside him over many years, always a real gent and willing to go the extra mile whenever needed. A sad loss to the club and to his family.
