Saw another shorter ad on 4 earlier with Etta James’ “At Last” playing.

I've seen that one myself 3 times today on Channel 4 and E4. The different promos do seem to get shown quite regularly so that looks promising. Hopefully we get two good, close fought games to kick off the coverage to encourage viewers to watch again throughout the season.

You forgot the bit where he resigned before the investigation could be heard.

It’s been several years, and you can well imagine he’s been punished for his behaviour in many ways, so hardly consequence-free. From his twitter feed you can see he’s given up the booze and made changes in his life, I reckon everyone deserves a 2nd chance? Otherwise we’re all doomed on some level

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

I don’t think Super League would be on Channel 4, without Channel 4 moving to Leeds. The city carries the sport on its back in the UK.

The wind up aspect aside, I do think that SKS is right about Channel 4.

RL should be in absolute pole position to take advantage of London creative types who have been told they need to reflect more of the English regions in their content.

I really hope RL can take advantage for once.

You don't think someone would bring it  back up, having never apologised or denied it publicly, if Channel 4 used him on air? I'm surprised someone who wants to beat RL with a stick hasn't done it already with him on OurLeague.

It's not a comment on him, or what has happened, just the perception for the sport.

That’s not for me to be the judge of. I was simply stating that he had resigned prior to the investigation into his alleged behaviours taking place.

The sport has handed out enough chances (2nd, 3rd and some even further) to people in the sport. I don’t know if broadcasters are the same.

It's similar to those who want Wayne Godwin involved in the coverage, despite being completely unsuitable, but also it doesn't take long to find him in blackface while on RugbyAM portraying Dr. Koukash. Not calling him racist or anything, but, again, the perception isn't great at all.

There’s people who genuinely want Wayne Godwin involved with any Rugby League television production?

As an aside, he sent Lock Lane a good luck message before their Thatto Heath cup game the other week while driving and posted it to social media.

There are. Some thought him in a bull ring was top TV too. 😞

Yeah it's decent promotion on Channel 4 Corporations platforms, what's the marketing like outside Channel 4 world? Have the Clubs involved in the selected matches, the SL and C4 done anything on that front?........

Still, should be a million viewers tuning in for a none challenge Cup game 👍

Said for years both Channel 4 or Channel 5 should take a punt on lower key sports.

IMO this will be good for Rugby League main stream TV, free to air while pubs will be busy and still early in the day.

Both Warrington and St Helens have had free/reduced price coaches laid on. As the away side in these fixtures, they’ve both done something. Not sure if Leeds or Hull have done anything to fill the home end.

Super League clubs are pretty poor on the whole at marketing and advertising anyway and I don’t really expect a lightbulb moment now, in all honesty.

Leeds extensively market their home games, I’d say  better than any other Super League club. They do this for every Super League fixture, be it on Channel 4, Sky Sports, or a non tv broadcast game.

Of course they do. Leeds are the centre of the Rugby League planet.

I don't think some see the value, which is a shame.
