9000 at hull kr - great attendance

10000 at Cas - amazing

13000 at Saints - fantastic attendance

14000 at Leeds - poor and disappointing

Not sure what sense that makes but that’s the logic on this forum

Doesn’t Leeds have a bigger population then all those places combined? Not the be all and end all but it’s not totally illogical surely?

Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

So what, are you saying we should only have clubs in Super League from cities with large populations if we are to grow the game?

Not saying anything of the sort, just pointing out being disappointed by leeds attendance was not entirely illogical given the relative populations to draw on.

Context. Leeds had fewer home fans at their game than Saints. They should be smashing Saints out of the park on stuff like this.

9k at Hull KR on a Friday night Sky game against a team 2 hours away is good.

Cas had their highest attendance for 5 years and sold out. Great.

Saints 13k for a Sky game against a team with no away fans is great again.

14k at Leeds on a great day and time, against one of the biggest and best supported SL teams, is just average in my opinion even with it being on C4. It's not good but it's not bad either.

Personally I think the Saints and Cas attendances were the standouts. Hull KR next, with more than I'd expect, then Leeds.

I thought that but had to check, Why not spruce it up & maybes offer meals & various promotions & it’s a bad weather option also.

Granted it would cost more than the demo costs but it adds value to the ground & if planned out & built right it’s another asset to the club & should increase revenue streams.

crowd today guessed at 1700.? By the Commentators

I thought the old geronimos nightclub was demolished a few years ago?

Warrington struggled to beat a 12 man Leeds side (11 men for a period of time)

Leeds will finish higher in the Super League table than Warrington

Championship figures from today:

Barrow v Newcastle 1744

Dewsbury v Sheffield E 846

Halifax v Widnes 2046

London v Whitehaven 1411

Workington Town v Fev 1007

Can't see a figure for Batley v York.

It was great to see long queues to get in at HKR on Friday night. It really is a cracking ground in terms of atmosphere under the lights.

Saints crowd was a good one but tough to judge how good as I believe Home Bargains had given free tickets to their staff (I presume they were the people behind the posts at the usual away end).

Leeds I guess will be disappointed with their crowd. It’s a funny kick off time that one though, so maybe that played a part.

I’m hoping Wigan’s crowd won’t be too disappointing on Friday. I don’t think it’ll be the 15,000 or so we’d have got for this type of opening fixture a few seasons back but if we can get 11,500-12,500 or so it’ll be a step in the right direction from the numbers that came back post covid.

And the association football team in Wigan,  despite romping the league and Premier League dreams got less than 10k yesterday.

WAFC get decent crowds in League 1, if they get promoted next season their attendances will regularly be five figures. They’re happy with the way things are going at the moment. It’s the RL club in Wigan who are worried about attendances, not the football club.

Add Barrow to this list, Own the ground & facilities & they recently bought back the Nightclub building that’s attached to the Duke St corner, So soon to have a big bar to add to the other recently added food & Drink bars, marquees etc

That is great for Barrow RL, i hope they make a fortune from it. St Helens hasn’t had a nightclub for years, are they still as bad as ever.

I thought the Leeds attendance was very good, it was live on terrestrial tv and the weather wasn’t the best.

The capacity was limited to 8k,we don’t really know what effects the covid restrictions are having in France either.

There are no tangible restrictions here, only a covid pass is needed to enter public places including the stadium last night.

There were no refreshments inside the ground but a couple of vans selling food and drinks around the perimeter.

It was all sadly very low key yet the bars around Toulouse were all very busy watching rugby union and football.

5,000 is extremely generous, I would have guessed around 3,000 max.

Is there a reason why they can't play at Minimes?

If only they were called Headingley Rhinos it would have been a fantastic attendance. Headingley has a population of 30,000, that would be nearly 50% of the population attending Headingley Rhinos home game. If all clubs become small town or village clubs all attendances will suddenly become great attendances as a % of population.

So they announced a higher figure than was in the ground so they could pay more tax on the gate?🤔

Works very differently in lower RL games in the UK....allegedly.
