As i left the ground yesterday someone said that “the stewards dealt with a fan in the Saints end for throwing ale after we had scored”. I hope this is true because that really does pee me off, if the ale is so bad save your £4.70p (or whatever price it is) instead of launching it over people.
Perhaps RL clubs really are starting to clampdown on unruly supporters, instead of turning a blind eye and telling everyone that it’s a family game and very rarely do we have any problems in stadiums.

Another low attendance at Warrington, worrying stuff.

Away fans are NOT important

The most alarming gate is Wakefield 5.5k FFS! They are becoming the laziest club in SL in terms of promoting themselves.

Just sit back and hope 3-4k Cas fans will rock up and help sell the place out. Well they didn't - or they did and it was at the expense of latent home fans.

That is why away fans are not a fundamental factor in a club's model. It creates a crutch and complacency. Hull KR is a really good example atm of sell home tickets first through galvanising the community.

50% of Leeds home games so far have been Thursday night games. Our next 3 home games are all on our preferred Friday night, our average will start to improve with this.

Saints have only had a single Thursday home game and had local derby’s at home against Wigan and Warrington already. Saints average will start to fall as the season goes on.. Leeds are still the best supported club in Super League and will end the season with the best average across Super League.

Isn't this the same or worse for most teams though?

As an example 60% of Wigan home games have been on a Thursday night and the Good Friday derby was at Saints this year, meaning no 20k+ crowd to boost averages.

Leeds are hardly in a unique position.

Indeed , which is why I questioned the proposed new stand at Belle Vue being all seater , the view from behind the sticks ( majority of home fans ) is poor , make the stand a 4K standing area and you'll fill it every game , create a better atmosphere and make it easier to bring in you're home fans

2) they're often watered down to prevent fans getting too drunk

Practically, it's because a fair number of stadiums are selling a weaker version because they don't want too many people getting too drunk too quickly.

Is this really true? Because that just sounds completely illegal.

More likely is the beer they serve is just rubbish in the first place , basically pump it straight back out of the urinals into the pumps 😉

Agree. A Leeds South Stand style would be a better design

I do often wonder how sky mucking about with fixtures impacts on attendances

I would say it costs some clubs a million a year in lost income

As long as the ABV is listed then it's not.

You can see the Leeds average for the year so far here, as I already stated with 50% of our home games so far on a Thursday, this will increase as the season goes on. Leeds have just short of 8000 seats and just over 10,000 standing capacity, neither our seating or standing normally sells out, as is the case with every other Rugby League club.

So the answer you are looking for is , never 😉

I'm not sure I follow?

Surely if I'm buying a draught beer the landlord can't just water it down like Cordial however they want?

Carlsberg is often sold, and that is 3.8% in this country, so weak as owt anyway.
