I'm wondering as the regular season is finished now, if anyone has any idea which teams are up and down compared to 2019, and the league as a whole?

Those are the averages, you can't just adjust them to massage the figures.

All in all, it could have been a lot worse. Seems that no long term damage was done by the pandemic at least in Superleague, so credit to all involved in running the clubs, and also to the RFL who IMO did get the big calls right during COVID. 

But longer term we need to see some growth to compete, especially with broadcasting revenues fallimg. So now on the back of RLWC and with IMG's help I hope we'll start moving upwards again.

Are the loop fixtures included in those attendances meast. What would the average be if it was for just the eleven regular home games without the loops ?.

How can you say which is the loop fixture, if they play eachother at home twice?

My guess is it will stay about the same as if you look through it sometimes the second fixture has the highest attendance.

The general consensus is that loop fixtures are a turn off,  therefore it would make sense to remove the lowest crowd of the repeat fixtures. 

If you felt that is a worthwhile exercise of course. 

What it does show is that the crowds have returned just fine following the pandemic,  despite the prophecies of doom. 

The challenge now is that 2019 was hardly a vintage year,  and with the current cost of living crisis,  I think season ticket sales will be tough this year.

Most of the ups and downs look like they  have club-specific underlying causes rather than game-wide issues which is good news I think. We all know how bad things at Warrington and Hull are, it's not surprising their fans have switched off. Leeds were still playing with reduced capacity at Headingley for a few games at the start of 2019 (although I'm not sure any were actually sold out). Wigan had two derby games this year vs two at Saints in 2019.

Catalan are a bit of a concern as their crowds even excluding the Barcelona game seem a bit down generally for reasons I can't pinpoint. I mean I'd struggle to turn up if my team was coached by McNamara but I doubt that's the reason.

And for a significant minority of us in the Southern part of the country it is especially difficult as fans 

My fuel bill going to away games or SL games is massively more than it was. Hotels massively more too 

Personally I can absorb it but I worry about the tipping point. The WC is going to be affected by this issue at least a bit. I'm planning games but maybe not as many as I would if petrol were still 130p a litre

Weren't the Sharks impacted by their ground being redeveloped? Could have sworn they were limited to 11,500? That would explain their drop in gates.

It would have had a slight impact but only four of the eleven home games were 11,500. For two games they went close to a sell out and five games were under five figures. I'll add a comment on that to clarify.

No biggie...just I've noticed it looks very much like a good bit of the ground isn't finished or roofed.
