Good comeback from South’s on the back of Melbourne’s indiscipline, nota fan of the 2 point drop goal to be honest.

Neither team looks to be anywhere near last years form with Walker looking lost without Reynolds to organise & kick for position.

Good game for Harry Grant. Really involved.

Storm made hard work of that after being much the best side in the first half.
Two sin bins set Storm on the back foot in that last quarter or so.

Maybe Storm have to reacquaint themselves with AAMI Park after not playing a game there for so long. It must have seemed strange to them actually playing at home.

St George Illawarra Dragons coach Anthony Griffin is reportedly set to parachute Tariq Sims into his starting 13 for Friday evening's clash against the Penrith Panthers.

Despite not naming Sims on Tuesday after a successful hit out against the Parramatta Eels in the NSW Cup last weekend, it appeared Sims was still going to be at least a week away from kicking off his NRL season.

It's been an eventful week for Sims, who won't be required at the Dragons from the end of 2022.

He has been linked with the Melboure Storm for 2023, while the Victorian club could also yet make a late play for him this season with an immediate switch.

- On the last point, I thought Storm hadn't got enough room for him within the salary cap for this season?

Rather underwhelming for most of it , then an exciting and somewhat bizarre ending . Neither looked overly convincing though , Souths especially looked very disjointed and error strewn for the most part

Justice done at the end. Melbourne should really have put the game away early in the second half but let's not forget that they were playing with 12 men for most of the half and during the extra point period.

Loved that Voss line "Craig Bellamy looks like a man whose just seen a $50 fly away"

Both Teams suffered. Storm from losing 3 key players in one go despite their systems it was probably a bit more difficult to overcome, thankfully this early in the season got away with it! The Bunnies were clunky due to a new Head Coach who though he has been there a while is going to tweak things especially having to replace Reynolds. I think Storm will recover better from their losses than the Bunnies will this season!

NO TRY

I thought the defenders dragged him to the line and I'm not sure he grounded it before the line. Definitely couldn't overrule the ref's call though.

28min: Jaydn Sewer gets 10 in the bin for late tackle on player after he'd passed the ball.

Some confusion over O'Sullivan who was the player tackled. Ref says he has to go HIA.

Josh Kerr also HIA

Crichton kicks the penalty

Panthers 8 - 6

31min: Leniu under the posts. Good sleight of hand by the dummy half had most of the Dragons looking out the back at a support runner.

Crichton converts

Panthers 14 - 6
