Pretty soul destroying tbh , we looked like we didn’t wanna be there

Thought that too, Looked slightly more interested second half but still very slow and predictable unfortunately

Totally out of our depth in this league and it’ll be a complete rebuilding job in League One next year.

I don’t think half of the current team will be here next season as they aren’t good enough for championship rugby and if the club is to push on then it needs an honest appraisal of current players and their abilities and if the feeling is that they can’t improve, then I’m sorry but it’s time to cut them loose at the end of the season

Chris Thorman also needs to have a long hard look at his tactics as there’s a lack of structure in the team with predictable one man rugby and our defence has been poor all season, today and Sheffield being particularly bad

Think our lack of quality showed today, we had plenty of sets on their line but just couldn't get over and fax made some breaks that destroyed us.

Crowd was very flat and didn't look very big but maybe mother's day had something to do with it as well.

Really think we need to get at least 2 players on loan now - got to be some SL players who arnt getting a game we could take for a couple of months before the league gets away from us.

It’s getting seriously hard to watch now, we were completely outclassed and when you throw in some half hearted efforts tackling it was never going to end well. Not too sure what can change this because we look absolutely shot to bits confidence wise and even our better players are struggling. I’m not even sure we’d be competitive in league 1 at the minute.

That was not good enough today against another pretty average team.

I am realistic and understand where we are but as long as I see commitment and effort I can take defeat but I did not see much of that  today.

Apart from lack of experience in the squad we desperately need some added size and power as the plan we had for this season regarding that has now been shown to be woefully lacking as this is not League 1.

The other thing that is obvious is our lack of pace in the squad.

But all that said I will be down next week for the York game and see which Town team turns up 😀

There was just nothing there . We’re so painfully laboured and utterly repetitive and predictable with the ball , and we let them run around and do what they want with the ball , and again another team making huge yards against us . Usually the givens , effort and enthusiasm , were barely sighted .

Every week our opposition are bigger, stronger & play faster than we do.

First half was dire, running every last tackle instead of looking for repeat sets. Kick offs had no variation landing on the same player every time, we played in front of them again, no line speed in defence, no enthusiasm, and some of the tackling was pathetic. Pez had a mare, and not playing with any specialist centres at centre baffles me. We are way too lightweight in defence and no threat in attack.

Second half was much better for enthusiasm but Halifax took their foot off the last 20 mins. And low and behold on the last play of the match we only went and put a high kick up to the tallest winger in the league! Ok he was given off side but surely it should be a given that we utilise his height especially if defenders are looking into the sun - right?

If we are to scrape some wins and survive we need new players as unfortunately the travelling players just aren't good enough to give the lads we are developing from the community clubs the time they need. On the plus side Hutchins & Broadbent played well, as did Teare until he got injured, fingers crossed it isn't bad, as hes our only threat on the flanks. I'll still be there every week but my expectations have lowered dramatically since the start of the season.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

The comments on here this Sunday are hilarious!

I said all this last week to be slated.

Yet 7 days later its OK to say

* Chris needs to look at his tactics

* slow and predictable

* effort and enthusiasm barely sighted

* looked like they didn't want to be there

I'll go with your comments this week... we're not far off a win haha !!!!!!!!!!!

First thing I do when the sheets come out is look at the benches . They had Tangata and Gwaze to make an impact with Kyle Wood . We brought Joe Brown on for Cus and had Bickerdike on the bench , with Hutchings as some impact who not long ago was on the wing . Every time Teare ran it he looked a threat , and is just stood out on the wing. An injury to him would be cruel when you’re already low

It's hard for Chris to get players... folk don't want to travel this far understandably.

Maybe have to bring in some Ausies if the money situation will allow like haven have....

We've bought 4 new uns in this season and only Bishop is really standing out not all aussies are world beaters

it’s always been hard to get players to travel to west Cumbria, so as much as that’s a reasonable excuse, it’s something that successive boards and coaches over the years should have failed to address.

as Donald rightly points out, not all Aussies are world beaters, but Town have barely signed an overseas player in years - and if we can’t get lads to travel we have to really take a long hard look at recruitment to see how the squad can be improved in the coming seasons.

this season has gone for me, I’ll be surprised if we win a league game, confidence is shot, injuries and bans are taking their toll and we can’t find any fresh bodies.

so let’s start planning for next season

After seeing us lose the kavanah try after a positive start the players body language suggested a tough day at the office whilst behind the sticks after a few minutes was worrying.

But there's lightweight like we started the season with a few forwards in.

At present we have a worryingly small squad with wingers making up the numbers in the pack.

Injuries are one thing we can help but if players leave surly we can replace them in dawson and Wilson.

The no go aussie let's not go there.

My belief is its now 2 from us dewsbury and London but its now a bit of a dream in all honesty.

The crowd shouting at the referee was embarrassing too, he was absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

Hopefully teare is OK too the shining light in a poor season.
