Hurricanes have been solid. The notion that a bunch of lads can be thrown together at short notice and be competitive is just naive in the extreme. We’ve seen it with West Wales. Recruiting players from the amateur leagues and student game to play against seasoned semi professional squads is a recipe for disaster.

Such a shame as there’s a good crowd there. I’m sure many will be shocked as to how poor the home side are. Obviously it will take time.

Weren't people saying Toulouse were out of their depth and couldn't be competitive 4-5 weeks before they beat St Helens.

It will take time. The hardest part is simply getting up to speed with the intensity of the pro game.

Yes but Toulouse have players with NRL, Super League and Championship experience. A lot of these lads for Cornwall have come from low grade Union or the student game which is a million miles away from the level required in League 1.

They have just agreed DR and will get loan players during the season I'm sure. To know were you are at you have to play.

How do you go from being relatively not awful vs crus to that.

I dont think they are getting many back next game with that.  Already feels like get through the season and be competitive next year.

I think Crusaders took their foot of the gas and very quickly regretted it. Midlands have learned from that.

Very pleased with the performance today. Hurricanes were missing a few today and had a player get injured in the warm up but it was a really professional performance. Cornwall are definitely a threat going forward and will only get better as the season goes on.

We scored 100, we scored 100 !. No. In all honesty it is ridiculous. WWR of course I am talking. People will miss their own team playing them. Just not good. I would hate to throw them out of the league. But..... Anyway. My heroes did what they had to.

Certainly got a crowd in at Penryn.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Cornwall got it all right. Big crowd, food and drink options, everyone made to feel welcome. People staying behind after the game.

They will win a couple of games this season, maybe more, and that will be a sensational start to life in semi-pro rugby league. They played their second game today. No warm ups, no prior history in NCL. They carried a threat again like they did last week against Crusaders.

Their first home game. They didn't win, it doesn't matter. Rugby league is alive and kicking in Cornwall.

Awesome Tim. Did they get the 1k they were hoping for?

What, if any, central funding do League One teams get?

Was approx £75k last season - down to approx £20k this season - and no team travel expenses either.

Happy with the Hurricanes today who were good value for their first win of the season. Need to stop giving away penalties in their own half but otherwise got things right.

We should get another win against Skolars next week and then comes the big test against Crusaders. How we do in that game is the mark of where we are in this division.

It’s not much but still feels like 20k too much on WWR who just seem to be caught in endless spiral of re-booting each season with little or no pre season prep.

I think, tbh, we'll blow you off the park...not in a WWR-stylee, but nonetheless... 😉
