why are players leaving town,we need a bigger squad not lads wanting to go back to the amateur game, been a story for the last couple of seasons, should be rotating the squad better, keep playing the same players get injuries and same results.

Quite a few that left did it due to work and location, these are part time players and its a big commitment to travel for training and games. It's unfortunate but there's not much anyone can do about it. For example Ethan Kelly left Haven for the same reason didn't he.

Back to the same old problem ......Without a reserve Team players wont hang around training and not playing for long............Surely Town and Haven need to get together and put out a joint reserve Team , who coaches them and where they play can be argued later , but our fringe players need game time .........and before anyone asks , would i pay to watch them whether they play at either ground , Yes .

Dewsbury tried this some years ago and it fell flat due to not being able to find fixtures against suitably strong sides. The RFL are decidedly unhelpful as far as "unofficial" reserve teams are concerned as well, meaning that getting officials for games was very difficult. Eventually these lads just went back to their amateur roots or, even worse, left the sport altogether.

There is no doubt that a reserve league open to all clubs is highly desirable but there are a host of reasons that make it very difficult for clubs of our size.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
