Jarrod Sammut

Has anyone got any further news on how he is? I see he was released from hospital later that day thankfully but do we have any idea how long he's likely to be out for? Also I believe we lost Danny Langtree and Ellis Gillam to arm and calf injuries? Hope all concerned are able to make quick recoveries.

That's hardly in the spirit of openness that the club whish to portray.  There are fans who are more concerned that just nosey.

Not sure if it is club policy or not,it is just my opinion because you rarely hear about any injury problems.

If it is I fully understand why they do it.that is all I’m saying.👍🏻

One of the problems is that we do not have a local paper worth the name. It's not based in town; it has no specialist sports staff to give either the Raiders or the Bluebirds the day-to-day coverage they need. I'll shut up there because since the buy-out and the closure of Abbey Road the paper's gone up to 90p. And for what?

As always I think the Raiders like to keep their injury problems close to their chests.

I agree HP no need to give updates on injuries, if Sammut was in a bad way I’m sure we would have heard about it via a statement from the club. You know who’s fit when the squads released prior to the game.

Jarrod Sammut is fine and available. Everything last week was precautionary and he was released Sunday evening.

We have lost Jack Croft but Sam Eseh remains with us and we are working on another loan deal. When the players are recalled after a short period there is nothing we can do about it, we are trying to negotiate longer loan terms but the Super League clubs call the tune.

Ryan Shaw has trained fully this week and is back in contention to fill the space left by Jack Croft

Dan Toal has had a bleed drained on his thigh and shouldn't be too far away

Ryan Johnston has had a scan on a niggling groin injury and we are waiting for the results before we can fully assess

Ellis Gillam has a calf injury and is a serious doubt for this week but Danny Langtree should be fine

Apart from that we are reasonably healthy.

We did a video with our physio last week with an injury update and it isn't a policy to keep the fans in the dark. If we had a sports journalist in the area it might help but the NWEM just seem to copy what we put out ourselves on social media.

So Barrow lose Jack Croft but not back to Wakefield he goes to Newcastle?????

Where is the sence in that???

Same with Wells, has a stormer then goes & plays for Widnes 2 weeks later after snashing them why bother only to be ###### about by these Super League teams

Barrow need to sign a centre, Wheeler isn't good enough & to be honest plays when he wants or depending who we play,  he's a  walking sick note same with Dec Hulme to many injuries

Shane Toal has suffered this season with having nobody decent inside him

Think its time we asked Mark Tyson back????

WHAT I think that's  a ridiculous notion we're not talking about bruised ribs or a dead leg but a neck injury even if only   slight he needs to take at least a  week off to let every thing settle down If the club picks him they are stupid and if he decides to play he's an idiot As for monday night I would assume that the York players all know about the injury so at every opportunity  to try to get him off the pitch they should  put pressure on his neck which  could cause even more damage    if they don't they are bigger idiots than him

Player welfare is important and everyone's entitled to an opinion but, on balance, I'm more inclined to believe the information provided by the actual chairman of the club rather than what some Featherstone fan reckons.

Of course it's  right for the chairman to tell the fans he's not seriously injured to alay your fears  I mean what did you think when he was being stretchered off  BUT my point is we're taking about his neck Necks should be wrapped up in cotton wool

You've got to understand  Iv'e got two friends in wheelchairs from innocuous rugby neck injuries

Regards Monday night was talking last night to someone who will be playing for york and he said jokingly  if he plays first chance he gets going to twist his head off big laughs 🤣🤣🤣

BUT a serious note he thought  it's too soon  to play he said anything could happen jarrod could put his head in the wrong place when tackling york could mistime a tackle and hit him round the head or he could be involved in an an infamous tip tackle and bang his head in the ground all causing who knows what damage

To put that into context  he's a big strong lad who's played over 200 games in SL and he said if he went off with his neck even a slight twinge he would sit the next one out

Thanks for the update Steve. That's great news it really did sound like a bad one from the radio coverage.

I maybe wrong  but if an hospital examines someone and finds no neck damage and let's you walk out the same evening then there is likely to be no neck or spinal damage? Which means though maybe not needed the precautionary methods were just that, wise precautionary methods?

It's great news that he was given the all clear but with all due respect not talking about neck or spinal damage I'm talking about a lad who hurt is neck was in so much pain neck brace stretcher hospital !!!!!! Now I don't care what people say but when he wakes up today he will still have a sore neck remember the're delicate little things 🤣

MY point is if he plays and gets a knock in the same spot same result  no damage but he will definitely be in more pain than last week  and may miss more games  than the one I'm suggesting he sit out against a team who have won their last five rather than have him firing on all cylinders against the next two who sit in the bottom three

I see he is in the 21 squad, he also says on a video thet he is fine and no worries about playing. How do you know he was in so much pain? The kneck brace was pure wise precaution but nothing said about being in so much pain? Or is it because your friends team think they have a better chance if he wasn't playing. The friend you say is playing and would target a neck twist? Anyway, if he does actually play and is cleared by hospital and doctors then that decision is his own if he feels fine. I'm sure the Club would not let him play if there were any underlying effects or damage or he didn't feel he was fit enough.

EVERY player thinks their fit enough JR  🤣  I will be watching Monday and hope everybody has a good game  I think your forwards need to stand up and be counted  and play better than they did at FEV remember in the championship a dominant pack wins you the game

Anyway enough about monday on to other things

The friend you say is playing and would target a neck twist?  He was joking

On the contrary after losing to FEV and leigh   the'ave won all their other games wining their last five game with a points difference of plus 80 and he say's you could play 13 sammuts and he's  confident  they would still win say's they cant wait to show premier sport how good they are

Any teams forwards will struggle against fev, in fact most have done, they won't lose a game unless its to Liegh, easy to do with a million quid to spend and in the perfect location mate.

I'm not a Barrow supporter just interested in all 3 Cumbria clubs in this tough league this year and wish Al 3 of the the best of luck.

Agree with you Ringo why pretend your concerned and then think it’s funny an injury will be targeted, baffling.

Do you not think the club have the players welfare at heart. What would they gain from a key player being out for weeks because he played too soon. They have professional physio's and doctors involved,  not cold sponge Charlie 🤣
