Qld must be quietly confident of regaining the Origin title this year. From almost nowhere they've unearthed some real talent with the revitalised Cowboys and Broncos to the fore. Moreso given the fact that a number of likely Blues inclusions are mis-firing or injured, like Turbo and Mitchell.

The Maroons have a wealth of talent on the wing - Feldt, Oates, Coates, Cobbo and Taulagi.

Holmes, Gagai and the Hammer give quality centre options.

The 1, 6, 7 & 9 match the best of NSW.

In the pack Cotter and Nanai look to be great additions and will only get better, and there's plenty more exciting youth at the Cows and Broncs. Arrow, Fifita, Tino, Kaufusi, Papalii and Capewell already offer plenty of grunt.

Much of the Origin talk over the past couple of years has been about an upcoming period of Blue domination.

Well, I'm not so sure about that!!

Surely someone like Reagan Campbell-Gillard would be a better option in the front row for NSW than Jake Trbojevic.   I like Trbojevic but I don't think he offer the running game needed at prop for State of Origin.

  • Graham changed the title to Queensland looking good for SoO - Discuss State of Origin teams selection here

The potential Blues line up has an incredibly weak bench - without a single prop. I would have Carrigan in the Maroons team to replace Arrow, otherwise I think that is very close to the team Slater will pick. Maybe Cobbo or Oates on the wing for Holmes who would move to the centres to replace the Hammer?

Two very well matched sides.

Can't help but think though that the added class of Tedesco over Ponga at 1 and the benefit of having the two Panthers halves will give the Blues the edge.

Cherry-Evans and Munster are both class players but together as a half back partnership they have been hit and miss.

Does his Doggy pay rise over Storm make up some, all of that?
Money is one (important) thing, rep honours are another.

Still who knows, depending how Origin 1 or 2 goes he may yet get a call up later in the series.
