Pre-game chat and full match, if you are up for it.  Another week without a game, but much to repair.  Hopefully a settled and focused squad for the league run-in, crucially the next away games, towards the home game with London then Swinton on 7 August.

Classic from Swinton forum:  "The ref tried to get them back in the game."

Hilarious !

I remember going to Oldham for that game in our promotion season. The away game when we’d beat them on Boxing Day at home. Hornets scored first to make it 2-0, after that it was a procession to our line. We were awful, Johnny Woods might has well have come and stood with me. Nobody played well, we were never in the game at all.  It was just one of those days. Hornets lost about 32-2.

When we were coming off I was having a moan with my son about how bad we’d been. An Oldham fan overheard me and said “ Did that ref come over on the coach with you ? “

You couldn’t make it up.

You need to read back on page 1 for similar nonsense from your own fans

Don't forget Swinton came into this season as favourites on a massive RL allocation compared with Rochdale. They managed to retain most of their squad from last season are still working almost on a championship budget. Methinks promotion is a necessity for them. The gap is closing and let's reserve judgement until the season ends 😀

It could all turn out irrelevant anyway because there could well be a new League structure next season. It may come down to the amount the club do in the community than League positions. Hornets seem to tick a lot of boxes.

Please explain this massive Rugby League allocation?
Also you’ve had sight of the playing budget to enable you to make your assumption?
I’d worry more about that ageing squad of yours since a few went hiding on Sunday.

Think you missed the point. My statement was ''massive compared with Rochdale's''  Those figures are in the public domain if you know where to look, and unfortunately both figures are small in the general RL allocations.

More  worried ?  I never said I was worried about anything Swinton were doing and if you look at an early post of mine I stated  Rochdale were out enthused on Sunday which is certainly true. I think the ageing lads at Rochdale have performed well this season complimented by some good young talent. Swinton and Rochdale a division apart last season and two points apart now . Certainly seems the gap is closing to me but lets see what the season end brings.

You couldn't be more wrong really

We have a run of away games Hunslet, Midlands and Oldham. We need to win two of the three if we are to keep on track with Keighley. We have all the tools to be a top three side but we have to make them come together as a unit.

We need to win all three really Hunslet had several loan players in against N.Wales they may not have them against us . Midlands seem to have lost their way. Oldham I can’t weigh up 100 - 0 and 66-0 wins but their other results only average. Should be a great game.

Hunslet's Chairman has confirmed that discussions are underway to the restructuring, with a consultation meeting scheduled with Championship and League 1 clubs on 13July.   He says he will share details with members and supporters and anticipates a Q&A session before the end of July.  Let's hope it is catching!
