Mumby Magic
Yes there's big name players seeing out there careers in the lower leagues but which have been the biggest coups? I remember when we (Bradford Northern) nearly signing Greg Alexander when we were as fashionable as flares. Like poor jokes? But I'd say neither of them are really under the remit of the OP. But as for underperforming "big name" players (and the inverted commas are deliberate): Spud Carroll by a country mile. This is a difficult topic: you could say Bob Lindner at Oldham, but Oldham were a decent team back then. Edit: thought of someone definitely on topic, Gary French for Springfield Borough.
