8 English clubs should join the NRL . If the NRL remain with 16 teams . We could have 3 pools of 8 . So English pool would be one pool and two Aussie/ kiwi pools of 8 . You play your own pool home and away which equals 14 games . Then play four teams from each of the other two pools . Four at home / four away for another 8 games giving total of 22 rounds . Then top 12 in merit table of 24 play in knock out to be champions . With top 4 getting a bye in first round . That would also give us room to have an international round robin with Australia , England and New Zealand .

How much is the coach travel to away games? Will it stop at the services at least once? I have the bladder of a little girl.

Is Australia and England were next door rather than nearly 10,000 miles apart that might work.

with teams only playing four games down under they could go for a month and play all four or go twice for two weeks playing two games each time.

Rugby league in this country is an impoverished sport, I don’t think it would be affordable. I’d rather see the game in Europe strengthened personally.

On a serious note has the WCC been shelved permanently ?

Not officially, but after a November WC I can’t see this year’s winners coming in February 2023 either.

Ah, but if you’re a Warrington fan the season is already over.

And how, prey tell, will the knock out rounds of the comp work... at a weeks notice? have you seen the many threads bemoaning semi and final crowds when they have 3 weeks notice and its "just down the road" compared to one week in aus one week in the uk? The players may struggle a bit too!

2 coaches and a minibus

Singing “You must have come in a private jet” doesn’t have the same ring about it as “you must have come in a taxi”.

And don’t even start about the dangers of explosive decompression when the local ASBO kids throw a brick at the window of a passing Gulfstream 5 jet.
