Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

This happens every season and that’s why our recruitment as got to be better. Look at Batley, only used 27 players, that’s very good considering the budget they are working with, but again that’s down to recruitment and players attitude,or and fitness.

We have had long term injuries to Turner, Peltier, Magrin, Annakin, Ferguson and others so a lot of these extra players have been short term cover for long term injuries.

Winning teams tend to have a settled team, players more likely to play with an injury and they are successful because they don't suffer the same level of injuries.

And if you're losing, coaches tend to drop players, sign players to try and change things.

But Workington and Featherstone have used the same number of players so it's not quite clear cut.

If we were losing and kept selecting the same team, questions would be asked.

They have been fortunate with injuries, though. Last week, for example, we had five missing due to HIA protocols.

Indeed but we've certainly signed a few that had a dodgy injury history..

At Michael Knowles evening, LF said he'd passed next stage of head test to start non-contact training again but another check or checks before contact training and then playing, so may not make the WC.

Annakin was further behind so unlikely to play again this year.
