Saints had the look of too many important pieces missing from their usual jigsaw at Solly. I'm trying to type the words I hope C  ...... no sorry can't be done!

But I'll be glad to cheer them on as underdogs!

Er no. They just got slaughtered by a much better team on the day!

That's neither debatable nor what was  I suggesting anything else.

But they were missing the usual suspects who cover up when mistakes are made and that exposed certain other things.

To ignore this is silly and in no way does saying this take away from SRD's dominance on the day.

Salford showed how to take on this current Saints team with most of their 1st choice backs missing... get the ball out wide!!!

Bennison, Hurrell, Davies, Grace (now AN Other with Grace's injury) is not a backline to strike fear into anyone and you've got to exploit it. It lacks pace, creativity and is defensively vulnerable.

Cas in decent form could well turn them over and as a top 6 team would it really be a shock? You'd expect a reaction from Saints after last week but much more is required from their key players to mask their weaknesses.

As a Salford fan we need a Saints win so Saints by 6-8. Not confident of that at all though.

I am expecting a Saints win but it’ll be interesting how many spectators turn up, i think there will be less than 9,000.
Id put Bennison at 1, Welsby in the halves and id given Danny Hill a runout. I would’ve got Simm back from his loan spell at FC, id prefer he had a runout instead of Davies but im not a GF winning coach.

Saints appear to struggle in afternoon fixtures and there is scientific theory to support this.

Would also explain the cup struggles.

Cas were poor on Sky against wakey the other night so for that reason I think Saints to get over the line but a close game.

Maybe 20-18

Simm is truly out of favour at present. We have three of our first choice 2 - 5 out and he still can't get a game.

I agreed with Woolf's decision to promote Bennison to back up winger over Simm, but don't agree with the call to play Davies at centre over Simm. But maybe there are other factors at play, who knows.

Makinson back for us is a big boost. I'm feeling quite confident for this one as I think we'll want to put in a good showing after last week.

I can’t see that happening yip although i have done my bit at spreading the gospel. I asked my young granddaughter if she would like to come up from the potteries and watch Saints on Sunday. I have also told her it is more exciting than her trip to Disney.

I would sooner have Simm in the side than Davies, no offence to the young lad but he just doesn’t seem good enough. I think we should win on Sunday, i just hope he hasn’t got Roby playing in the halves.

The C4 build up is so much better than Sky with superior presenters who speak about the game articulately. They just consistently get it right.

Agreed, Channel 4 are doing a brilliant job. They fit a lot into the half an hour build up.
