The Transfer Rumour Mill Thread

After the recent losses in Grand Finals and last season's semi for Fev, I can understand you lot having 'squeaky bums' going into the play-offs, but sometimes you can be to close to the action and examine everything under the microscope to deeply. If like me you are stood back somewhat and look at the bigger picture in wide screen and glorious technicolour you get a far different aspect, as I said in a previous post the loss to T.O. at your place has not caused you any problems (bhuggered up my pre season prediction) in fact the coaches, team and club will have learned more from that defeat than winning, you will be fine. I have you at least 90% to walk away with the 'Big Gong', it is Fev's to lose no one will just take it of you.

Fev are 1-2 to win the Grand Final with the bookies Harry. If you think they are 90% likely to win it, then you should spend the rest of the day opening as many online accounts as possible.

Remember you were predicting an unbeaten season for us, and the wiser heads who have actually watched the games rather than just looked at the teams and the scores prevailed.

You aren't "looking at the bigger picture". You are just less well informed because you haven't seen as many of Fev's games as some of us. Put a gun to my head and I'd say yes we are more likely to get promoted than not, but nobody who understands the Championship and probability would say it's anywhere near a 90% chance.

Against Batley or Toulouse would Fev fans be that confident?

Absolutely not. I love Harry's optimism but as he says, we're way too close to be confident. I'll start believing we're going up if we're two scores up in the GF, with 60 seconds left on the clock.

Even then, knowing Fev , we'll concede an 8 point penalty try under the sticks and lose by point as the penalty goes over!!!

"Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Alex Murphy's immortal words as David Hobbs scores his 2nd try in the '83 Cup Final!

Neh then, we were having the same discussion last season David but in reverse, you were far more confident prior to the play-offs of Leigh going up than I was, that was the reason I said you can be to close and the consequence of that is it promotes pessimism in your own abillity, looking back and after the final whistle v Batley I knew that I should never have doubted them, I suspect that will be the combined feeling of the Fev fan's come October.

For me this is a much better Fev team than last season and without a team like Leigh to beat. I think that Fev are being underestimated to some extent, probably due to our uninspiring start to the season, performance wise. Looking at the team and squad now, I’m pretty confident.

Agree i think the best we have played this season is only about 85% of what we should be capable of.Our wingers don't get the chances a team in our position should create. All the disruption at half back  probably to blame.

That really would be typical Fev 😀 Might revise my rules of hope to a 9 point lead.  Even then, we'd probably concede the longest drop goal in history from the restart and lose in golden point.

Obviously there are no rumours about transfers today!!

Well one that isn't happening (well not anytime soon anyway) is Lussick leaving Saints straight away and going to Parramatta. Saints have 'politely' told Parra to sod off saying they will only release him if they have a replacement already in place.

I’d hurry up and get a replacement then. I haven’t been particularly impressed with Lussick.
