What has happened to Sam Scott ? , playing really well at the start of season then injured his knee and not heard of since.

JK played him in a game early in the season when he wasn't fit and carrying the knee injury. Came off injured having made the injury worse and missed the rest of the season. There was a lot of rumours that he was going to retire bit thankfully he's made a recovery after what I understand was a complex Op and has signed on for next season.

Hopefully an injury free season for him next year

Rumours of Matt Prior to the Bulls.

Given Bradford openly said they were having to cut back this year, where have they suddenly found the money for the signings of Walker, Thompson and allegedly Prior? Or are Leeds part subsidising these players, as I suspect

Id be a tad annoyed if we’re subsidising Thompson 😉

I would imagine we would have to pay some of Priors wages but not Walkers

Since I have obviously missed the big news, Why are Leeds offloading players for the cap? Are they bringing in a big name?

Given Walker was under contract (and on a 6 figure sum AFAIK), I'm almost certain that we'll be subsidising his wages

I don't think cap is the issue at the moment as we didn't sign Hardaker  but we could do with Prior off the OSQ, I think we are looking to bring in a specialist centre, with the Signing of Listen we are now out of quota spaces.

James Bell to Salford rumours going around.

Yep, Salford have asked about Bell but Saints will only release him if they can bring in a replacement. They're trying to bring Thompson back from the NRL, so I guess if they manage that then they'll release Bell.

Dereck Beaumont saying they don't need to release any quota players

Doesn't seem right to me, anyone understand what he's saying here?

""We will be compliant with operational rules which we expect to be reviewed around the restriction especially concerning British citizens who are non-fed trained. A loaned player isn't on your quota and can be changed every 2 weeks. We will have a partner club."

Rumours of a silent investor funding these signings.

I assume he means that the quota players can essentially be swapped out with someone to be loaned out on a rolling basis and only 7 in any matchday squad. All players have to be registered with RFL so would assume there would have to have been some conversations take place between the club and the RFL for them to come to this conclusion.

Seems odd to me and against the spirit of the quota.

I don't think match day squads has ever come into it - I could be wrong but Im surprised if that's the case its not happened before.

Just had a quick look through the operational rules and it does state this

"A Super League's club's register and any declared 21 man squad for a match must have a maximum of 7 players who are not either (a) federation trained or (b) academy juniors.

So that reads to me that you cannot register more than 7 non fed trained players.

Loaned out players are still registered to the parent club surely?

The quota system is a mess which really needs an overhaul & a reduction in overseas places, fair play to Leigh but the fact that Lam is now classed as fed trained after playing a few games for St Pats U8s is a joke,so finding another loophole in the system wouldn’t be a shock.

Surely they should have had to play for a sustained period of time to be classed as federation player?

Would certainly need some “creative” accounting.

Why ??

Thompson would come back as a Marquee player and would only cost £75K on Saints SC. Releasing Bell and not replacing Grace would easily cover that.
