Well it had been on the cards but Whitehaven's win at Bradford confirms it.

At least LF can plan next season now. Hopefully we can hang on to a decent number of players and I'm sure we will be a force in League One.

Losing the 4 home games to Barrow, Newcastle, Whitehaven and London were the key to our demise. We could have won all of them.

We should have won all of them games. I said at the time those results would decide our fate, discipline played a big part in those defeats. Hopefully now we know where we will be next season we can try and tie some of our players down.

Nah, get shut.  You need a clear out of at least +90%. Need to rebuild afresh. Those too good won't stay them as stay aren't good enough.

I doubt that we will be masters of our own destiny there PM. No doubt your lot will be sniffing around some of ours hoping that they might be good enough to replace those stars that will be leaving your place at the end of the season.

Money talks, although in the HW it only whispers.

If LF had been coach all season, think we would have been in a much better position.

So the inevitable has happened. No point dwelling on what’s gone wrong the focus should be solely on next year and who stays and who goes.
I know a lot of the younger guys are keen to stay and continue the good work they’ve done since Liam and Casper came in. Som players will move on but imo the nucleus of the squad should be developing players that are keen to improve under quality coaching

Are you not 6 points behind Whitehaven with 3 games left so not mathematically relegated yet?

It is mathematically possible that Elvis works in a Chip shop in Batley......you are right but we'd have win all 3, Haven lose all 3 and overcome a big points difference.

As a Dog, it's not good for us or the area for you to be out of the league. None of the 'well, it's 6 easy points' business. Your problem now, as several of your lads have pointed out, is keeping a core of players who are good enough to get you back. Won't be easy, there'll be more than us sniffing around, some might not want 1st division rugby etc., some loanees might go, it'll be hard, good luck.

Our Invincibles undefeated season was in the equivalent of League One. We will still be in a better position than most other L1 sides. It won't be easy, some will stay, some will go, but that's how it always is. And if they go to other Championship sides will they get regular rugby?

But can a team to survive in the Championship be built in league one? Yes of course it can but not on the money Dewsbury/MS want to spend! It could be a few tough years ahead.

One step at a time, Doomster. Build a side to challenge for promotion before worrying about what comes next.

It’s not such a tall order now to avoid relegation is it?

’Haven have London at home next match, so could easily see defeat there as London seem to be on form and the final match is at home to Newcastle, which could go either way. In between, we just need Town to show their arch rivals that they want to get one over on them before relegation and no Cumbrian derbys next year.

We, on the other hand, only need to show Batley how we have improved (and they are currently doing the opposite for some unfathomable reason), grab the victory at Barrow and go for our second double of the season in the final encounter at Sheffield.

Mind you those victories would have to be by sizeable margins and Whitehaven to take a walloping in two of the defeats!!!

Talk about optimism, on a grand scale too.
