Wigan squad for tomorrow. Just look at the squad numbers. Things like 2 fixtures in 3 days, play offs and loop fixtures just means that Super League has too many meaningless games that dont excite fans:

Other league structures will have just as many "meaningless" games as the current one and a league without play-offs would have considerabley more every year. The doubling up over weekends, only partly the reason for this squad, is obviously being scrapped. I totally agree on the loop fixtures not exciting fans, awful idea based on short sightedness by SL clubs.

Giving also rans a fight to finish 6th isn't much to play for and just adds to the mediocrity. The top teams simply coast and get ready for the play offs because finishing top doesn't really matter. This giving everyone something to play for is little more than an illusion.

At this point, before the term gets misued again, i think its worth pointing ou that there have never been any double headers in Rugby League, ever; nor will there ever be, for a double header is "two games between the same teams played in the same place on the same day"

Just sayin'

Some communtiy games are played as double headers.

I’ll be disappointed if we don’t have the Easter weekend scheduled like this; one game Thursday night, the Hull FC v KR game and the Derby on Good Friday, a game on Saturday, a game on Sunday and a game on Easter Monday.

But then the following week if a team who played on Easter Monday play either of the Hull teams the coach will complain about the short turnaround they had

Thursday and Friday’s teams play each other in the following round and Saturday, Sunday and Monday’s play each other on the following, mean all turnarounds are around the same.
