It really depends on what team and attitude Fax take to this game. We are more or less guaranteed 3rd place so do we rest players or keep momentum going as we head to the play offs? The home game was won by Widnes with Fax giving their worst display, on the worst pitch, of the season. One point in it then and it could be the same at Naughton Park. 🤔

Over to you Oxy.

Like others have said, Im really not sure on this one. My theory is we will put a full team out for this one, Gwaze I imagine will play to get some minutes under his belt and I imagine JWH will be brought back in, and then we will rest players against Fev the week after even if the fans don't like it. If we go over there with a full team then we have to treat it in the way we would an away semi with Fev and look at it as potential prep for that game. If we do that I think we could win by a decent margin maybe 20 or so points especially on a pitch that really suits the way we play.

If Grix uses this game to rotate players then it should be a really competitive game for the cameras and I wouldnt be surprised if we slipped up. Again though as has been mentioned we probably owe them one from the home game where the conditions suited Widnes down to the ground and i imagine that will be at the back of the players minds. One thing I can't see is Grix resting players in both games and risking going in to the home playoff game rusty.

Good win for us that and probably the perfect prep for the back end of the season. Must have defended so many more sets than Widnes and didn't seem to have the ball much in Widnes half but still managed a convincing win and able to rest a load of players to keep them fresh in to the playoffs. That early season form seems a million miles away.

Silence now from those who were screaming for Grixy’s head earlier this season

If and when the Grix era ends we will look back with great affection for this spell , he plays a great brand of rugby and has created an identity in style of play , he also comes across really well when ever interviewed, really enjoyed watching fax this year .

Main 2 are probably our best two players in Woodburn-Hall and Keyes then Brandon Moore, Matt Garside, and Jacob Fairbank. Our team selection for next week is going to be interesting, on one hand the fans would love to see us give Fev a good game at home but the reality is that its a nothing game for both teams.

Quite impressed with Fax tonight. We had loads of ball and field position but no guile. Thought they handled most of what we did throw at them comfortably and scrambled well on the odd occasions they needed to. With ball in hand they just seemed to run harder than we did. With regards to the play offs they look like they have the potential to do some damage when in possession. Not sure they will find it as easy to defend though if they allow better teams than us the same sort of field position.

Just because you think everyone hates you doesn't mean they don't.

Said before I think this is the best Fax team to watch easily since our Championship winning team. We play a great brand of rugby.

Widnes very poor, disappointed with the play makers, Craven I expected much more from him, but what use is Matty Smith these days catch and give it someone else to do the work, good job Widnes had so much possession or else they would have been looking down the barrel of 50+ against such was their defence.

A few of us have said that now. I would love to know how many sets we had in Widnes half in that game, we just didn't seem to have much good ball at all.

I like watching Fax, they seem a very well knit, hardworking group who play some good rugby, Grix is turning into a pretty decent coach and it can't be long before SL clubs are potentially looking at him.

That is a worry but at least we have him signed up for another couple of years . He’s worked under some great coaches himself and played with some top players, he’s a good communicator and is managing to translate all these things into his coaching style , combine that with his brothers strength and conditioning setup we have a good thing going at the moment.
