St George 22:12 Brisbane at FT.

I think this puts Canberra in the finals, at the Broncos' expense.

According to a Fox reporter:

The Brisbane Broncos’ season is over. Needing to beat the Dragons on Saturday night and needing the Raiders to lose on Sunday, the Red Hill club failed to even succeed at the first step.

Never before has a team that was inside the top eight with seven rounds to play missed the finals, with the Broncos now the owners of an deeply unwanted statistic.

Holmes has just gone in for his second try of the game powering his way over with defenders hanging on to him.

It’s looking ominous for this weakened Panthers side.

M. Taulagi 8, V. Holmes 23, S. Drinkwater 28, V. Holmes 33 Tries
V. Holmes 24, V. Holmes 29 Conversions

Looks like by losing, the storm have avoided travelling to penrith and instead will likely be at home to raiders in the play offs.

Hmmmm.

Let’s not pretend that is an advantage. They now have an extra game to win and will still have to beat the loser and the winner of a top 4 game.

Just now, Graham said:

What a player Val Holmes is!

Few players return from a stint in another Football code as brilliantly as he has. In a way, that's even more remarkable.
