Especially when the match director doesn't seem to understand English.

Of course there's no particular reason why the match director in France should speak English. But probably a prerequisite that the match director and the VR speak the same language.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

We have the same old problem. The on field ref called it a double movement. So as soon as the ball was seen to have touched the ground, the video ref had to go with the on field call, rather than give his own view as to whether it was a try or not.

Did the VR actually get an angle & speed he asked for ?

Assuming we're seeing the same images then no, he didn't. But said he could see what he wanted anyway.

Very poor all round.

The video referee conversation with the match director reminds me of my conversation with my 9 year old daughter every morning when I am getting her ready for school.

I ask but she ignores everything I say.

I’m reminded of the third umpire in India where they were determined not to show footage that proved India on the wrong end of it !

Thaler has to be a bit stronger though no, he needs to insist they show him the angle he wants to see.

Dylan Napa is either a dirty git or just braindead

I rolled my eyes when I saw it was Napa but there wasnt actually much in that one, high tackle was Sezer had dropped down to about shin height.

I find it hard to reconcile the two facts that (1) I rate the job McNamara has done at Catalans and (2) this lunatic Napa gets a game.
