Is scrum half a worry? If Dean does well, he goes back to Wire, if Wire struggle, they probably take him back

They'll be starting Williams and Drinkwater every week barring injury, and they have a very promising youngster called Leon Hayes who would have been in competition with Dean to be their 3rd half back this year. Obviously it's possible he could get recalled.

Plus don't rule out the possibility of Lacans winning a starting spot at half back. Sean Long coached Theo Fages and is credited with a lot of his progress, both Catalans and Toulouse wanted Lacans but he opted to come and play for Long. I think Lacans will be a real fans favourite, he's tiny but tackles way above his weight from what I've seen.

Took League Express and their newly-signed clickbait specialist less than an hour to come up with the story that Joey had been "pushed out" from the number 3 shirt 🙄

Is there any real journalism anywhere anymore? It's all very clickbaity. Maybe he requested number 21, maybe it's his favourite number? Maybe he likes blackjack. Those 3 things are all probably as researched as what League Express have written.

Having seen his Instagram feed, maybe it's his golf handicap!

Feel sorry for their other HB Miller - think he was their top scorer and outshone chizzy for much of that season

miller was league 1's leading point scorer 18 tries 133 goals  and apparently pulled the strings masterfully as the Cougars dominated Betfred League One,

He was named league 1 player of the year

First bookmaker to quote odds on the Championship (Skybet) has us as 7-4 joint favourites with Toulouse, 12-1 bar. I'd say that was good value if it was the regular season odds, but it's to win the Grand Final, which is a bit more random with at least a couple of knockout games involved. I'd still rather back us at those odds than Toulouse looking at current squads.

I think you could be right PH some rather odd selections for the first 13 . But hey it is a squad not a team.

It looks that way H but in reality the starting 13 in the squad list isn't worth the paper it's written on remember this time last year Tom H and chizzy were in the thirteen 🤣

looking at the list apart from players who have left it's virtually the same as last year right  down to Josh at 18 so don't think there's been much discussion on who's the starting 13

Looking at Donny's squad list, there's quite a few former favourites apart from Brett Ferres. Sam Smeaton, Loui McConnell, Watson Boas, Misi Taulapapa,...

Good luck to them in 2023

Brad Knowles/Tagg and Matty James too...I had a look on their forum thinking they'd be really bullish after signing Knowles, James and Ferres, plus Elliot Hall from Bradford, because all of those could have been expected to find a Championship club, but they're having a right old moan instead, I guess that's rugby league fans everywhere!
