You'd have to think there is more to this

Fallout with Carter? Player revolt?

Because what would Trinity have expected? They finished 10th with one of the smallest budgets in the League and weren't seriously in danger of relegation for the last few weeks of the season after hitting some good form.

Bizarre, didn't set the world alight but did what needed to be done. Don't see anyone out there who could offer improvement and who's available and who wants to come to Trinity.

Surely if they knew they was going to sack him they should have had Tony Smith lined up before his move to the Black and Whites

Rumoured concerns with coaching standards voiced by senior pro's during the season. I had issue with their playing standards for a good portion of the season so it's a bit off for them to criticise the coach.

So, "player revolt" then?

Odd. He seemed to have got them on a decent trajectory and probably deserved a chance to show if they could keep it going in a new season.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Isn't that par for the course at Wakefield?

It's not as if Carter is particularly supportive of his players in many of his media statements.

Carter has his faults but the main one is being too loyal to his coaches. Chester lasted two years longer than he should've and he signed a new contract which was financially honoured despite his sacking.

One of those Fifita? He gets away with it because some fans idolise him.

And I suspect that this sacking will hardly encourage a potential coach who could offer improvement to come to Wakefield. It does seem very harsh on Poching.
