It still is in the right situation.

Impact on the hips, no attempt to lift the attacking player or drive into the ground, momentum takes the player up, perfect one on one tackle, much better than shirt grabbing or swinging arms at the head.

On that Leeds try, isn't there some rule about coming back on the pitch after stepping off it? Though disallowing that try for it would have been ridiculously harsh obviously. I just remember some rule but not what it is.

Isn't it just about grounding yourself. I. E. You can't leap from out of field and touch the ball?

Martin's actions lifted him and dumped him. The only thing that stopped that being worse was Lomax putting his arm down.

Absolutely illegal. And rightly so.

Yeah that might be it, just maybe misremembering it, but I thought you couldn't go off the pitch and back on in a play.

Don't worry, if it's wrong Saints will appeal it in the week until it's rectified.

On the half time replay of the Martin incident, he also comes down on Lomax’s face with his forearm. So two actions that together would almost certainly result in a red card in the normal rounds this year.

Interesting to how quickly these refereeing trends come and go, considering the outcome of Knowles’ Colonel Sanders tackle last week.

What was the ankle twist by Austin, I don't remember seeing it but just got a message of a mate to say he was lucky to get away with it.

The commentators noted it but didn't really seem to understand what they were watching.
