We'll never attract new people to our sport if St Helens keeps winning

It's up to other teams to step up to that level. I thought mine were getting there but didn't show up last week. That ability to turn it on when it matters sets Saints apart.

You've only posted 3 times about how great your team is in the last 20 minutes fella, I think you need to tell us a couple more times.😂

Sky told us 1,000 times that this was the greatest group of sportsmen and the greatest club in human history, so if anything telling us how brilliant they are 4 times in 20 minutes is damning them with faint praise.  Sadler wrote an article last year about them having the best board, the best commercial set up, the best coach, the best juniors and the best recruitment. It is an absolutely damning indictment on the rest of what is supposed to be a salary capped “level playing field” sport for them to be so far above everyone else. But, to the victor the spoils, and so there’s no arguing with any Saints fan who wants to tell us how good they are in everything they do.

I can’t see any other winner next year, but now my heart issues have hopefully been sorted out, I have high hopes I will see the day I see someone else win a GF again.

They sold out their first batch, which means nowt really, that's standard.

Certainly a lot of Saints fans in this pub in Warrington, very odd mentality.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

It is probably the biggest downside to a team consistently winning the competition. Complacency sets in amongst fans and it becomes less of a must see.

Quite poor the seeing as they are ‘the greatest ever side to play the game’ so were told 😉

It's not unusual for the GF to have empty seats in the upper tiers. The big difference tonight appeared to be in premium neutral seats. The lower bowl is normally at capacity. That suggests the cost of living crisis and the world cup comes into play.

It was probably Wane who was instrumental in Bateman being selected for the Knights, I would say there is a bit of a clue in that.

I don't think there was ever any doubt that Bateman was going to get picked in a squad of 24 and as such, for better or worse, his Knights selection makes complete sense.

We may do if people tune in to watch the highlights tonight on the usual BBC1 Match of the Day slot or the Channel 4 highlights next week.  We couldn't have hoped for a better game.

Penrith have zero interest in this fixture

Is that because they have never wom it? - didn't they get hammered by Stuart Fielding all by himself the last time they played??🤣🤣

The Roosters by contrast love the WCC and love the fact they have won it more than any other team. Think that says more about Penrith than anything else.

Might be. They still won't be interested.

The Guardian report concludes that this is the greatest team ever to play rugby league (I assume in the NH, given that I recall St George had a bit of a run a while ago…).

It's good that Saints doing well isn't upsetting you in any way...

Judging by the sparsity of one section of the ground tonight, neither will St Helens

Leeds lost, did they?

It's hard to tell.

Still laughing! Brilliant Saturday evening tv!

If your user name indicates your team then it's no surprise that you can only live in reflected glory, and your hatred of Leeds, failures since 1964.

That was a high quality game. It was intense and ferocious but played in the right spirit. Saints' execution was on a different level but Leeds refusal to buckle and their ability to counter attack kept the game alive as a contest.
