Will Cleary be in the Aussie squad?

With DCE likely to partner Munster in the halves for the Kangaroos the choice of back up #7 in the WC squad appears to be a straight fight between Cleary and the new Dally M winner, the deserved Nico Haynes.

I think Meninga will opt for the Sharks player given his history alongside Munster. 

Whatever, it'll be interesting and not without controversy!

Hynes can cover every position in the backs and half backs with ease - there will be inevitable injuries and he should be on the plane for that reason - Cleary will be no7

Clearly has to be at 7 for them, surely.

They put way too much emphasis on Origin in my opinion. Manly were a shambles for half the season, finished nowhere near the 8. Hynes at 14 I reckon.

I'm not sure a Cleary/Munster partnership would work. IMO, at their respective clubs they're both the 'lead' halfback, with the two Jaromes playing the foils, though both, also, stars in their own right.

DCE, Munster, Hynes and Wighton could be the four.

Barring injury, there is absolutely no chance that DCE, Cleary and Munster don't make the squad.

I also think Hunt is a certainty as he covers halfback and 9.  So that is 4 that can play in the havles.

After that it is about who else get's in.  Could be Moses but he is a specialist in the half back positions or it could be Hynes or Wighton (or both) because they have more of a utility tag.  It will depend on whether Meninga wants a spine utility (Hynes) or a stand off / centre utility in Wighton.  I would expect the latter.

He's not an International style player that Aussies like in that position; recently.

I only saw the headlines about missing the WC last week. Events have overtaken me. Any way his Mrs won’t let him leave the house after missing the birth let alone swanning off to the other side of the world.
