Whisper it, but Harry's the WDL's agent provocateur, charged with flushing out fellow travellers.

His Stakhanovite efforts will be rewarded in the end.

Are you suggesting that, secretly, Harry is really proud of the fact that Leigh is part of Wigan MBC.

Go on, Harry, admit it in public!

Just as I expected all over social media. NRL fans can’t believe it they’re pulling “It wasn’t Fiji’s full strength squad”. It’s quite funny that they can’t admit England a good nation and it’s going to be even more funny when Samoa and Tonga get beaten I wonder what excuse they’ll come up with that time.

The WC is a contrived competion with 16 teams competing, at best make it an 8 team comp if we even want to try to make it competitive.

I really think you need to look at your use of the word contrived as I am not sure you are using it right.

Of course the World Cup has been deliberately created rather than arising naturally or spontaneously?

World Cup's aren't found in nature.

Pretty satisfying win, don't think that could have gone any better really. No injuries, 0 points conceded, plenty of selection headaches. Sneyd and Ackers looked at home in this company and showed what they can offer.

Agree that Sneyd has to play. No one else in the squad has a kicking game anywhere close to his and as we all know, that's going to be vital. Just need to give him plenty of protection in defence. I'm also in the 'no need for mickey mac' corner. Ackers probably only needs a couple of 10 min spells off the field and Radley can cover that and will be just as effective as MM.

Who knows what will happen with the Tomkins conundrum as Welsby has to play. No doubt brings plenty, including leadership but our attack likely won't be as good with him there. If he starts then Williams would have to drop to the bench for me.

I'd like to see:

Welsby

Makinson, Watkins, Farnworth, Young

Williams, Sneyd

Thompson, Radley, Oledski

Bateman (if available), Whitehead

Knowles

Ackers, Burgess, Batchelor, one of the other props. If Tomkins plays, Ackers starts, drop the other prop and replace with Williams who maybe does short stints at dummy half with Radley or knowles starting on the bench.

That it's a second rate comp and the players are just there for a holiday. For reference see any SL win in WCC games. Or that no one cares because it's cricket season as the news in Aus did in 2014 when they were getting beat in the 4 nations.

Contrived, dictionary meaning :-

"Deliberately created rather than arising naturally or spontaneously"

So I see you looked it up to find if I was wrong, but the truth is I ain't.

Someone on twitter said it wasn’t Fiji’s full squad so I said England Had Tomkins, Makinson, Percival, Lomax, Walmsley, Hodgson, Bateman, Knowles, Oledzki all out. He’s reply was no they didn’t I burst out laughing.

According to the player stats on NRL.COM, Tom Burgess ran for 192 metres in 52 minutes tonight.

He is a valuable part of the squad with his go forward.

Dom Young led the run metres (204) and tackle breaks.

I'm really not sure we can describe a player who has retired from international Rugby League as 'out'.

Full time at Workington  -  Cumbria 28 Jamaica 12

Fear for Jamaica in the RLWC, they were pretty poor and a not particularly strong Cumbria team completely outplayed them.

Jamaica look complete garbage. A collection of English guys from League1.

It's a crazy argument.

We don’t have to make every single game in the World Cup super competitive.

If we think of the World Cup as both a competition to find the worlds best national team and a festival & celebration of Rugby League then it is perfectly fine as it is.
