RLWC Attendance-O-Meter

There is actually more chance of me attending separate men's and women's games than a double header. I know that sounds daft but having a toddler means that I'm generally limited by his short attention span. I would like to see both but can't really see us managing the 2nd half of the women and 1st half of the men. We didn't go to Wigan for this reason. There is a good chance I'd go to a men's game and my wife would be keen to go and see the women (which obviously I'd go to and encourage).

I agree and I made this point about the double header quarter final at Wigan. Loads of people outside the ground at the eateries and fan zone but very few inside watching the women's game. Very few people want to be in a stadium for 4+ hours. My kids preferred a burger king and keeping warm in the fanzone. If the women's game was the day before we'd have certainly gone.

I'm not sure how much you would get staging it in london, but seeing i'd estimate at least 30K of the fans at emirates in the Semi Final, it was the first RL game they had seen live, if you play again in London, some of them would come back, playing in the North west you will be lucky if you get 1k of the new fans who was at that game

I always find it disrespectful. I tend to get the 2nd half of the women's game and then the mens. Itd be nice to actually see the start of the game and those early collisions, but I'm not sitting there for nearly 5 hours in April.

It would have been interesting to have had a three test series, Wheelchair on Friday, Women's on Sat and Men on Sunday - wrap them together best of three.

One of the annoyances about the double headers in this World Cup was that they wouldn't let you get a pass out of the stadium - 4 hours really is too long to be cooped up in a stadium

That's why it needs to be at Tottenham 😆

If we think our WC is a mess, the qatar one is on another level, same with Fifa

With their money - they don't care.

if only we had a fraction of it in RL.

I don’t know, id hate the game to like football, money or not

I'm talking revamped stadia - places like Wakefield and Cas - clubs owning their own grounds so they get all the revenue, for example Wigan.

Not too much - just enough to help the game be self sufficient and maximise revenue sources.

It's amazing. So many empty seats to count. Attendances announced above capacity 🤣

Superb stuff.

Ticketing madness too.

All the classics

Don't think they have Groupon in Qatar though.

That's the clincher.

Suddenly that wait until the new season doesn't seem so long.

So the RFL's perceived incompetence isn't due to a lack of money as the richest sport on the planet can do far worse.

Maybe the RFL/IRL are not that bad.

A bit more empty seat porn for anyone needing their fix...

i'm assuming the 1,000 are sat behind the man with the camera or he's including ground staff and the two team's support staff!

they've just hosted a world cup, where the final was at the MCG to then have this series is utter madness, the only other sport I could imagine doing this would be RL (but we wouldnt as its an international outside of a tournament so doesnt happen anyway :kolobok_ph34r:)

Are we broadening this thread to just cover any attendances, in any sport?

I did notice that the Union lot had lent their calculator to the Qataris.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Don't threaten me with a good time.
