Doesn’t matter, still have to play Tonga either way, better to get them out at the quarters.

PNG then Tonga is easier than Tonga then Samoa

Don't want to play Samoa again as that's boring as well

Were PNG better than expected or Tonga not all that?

Pretty confident England will beat both of these based on that.

Based on that aye. Tonga can only improve but their spine is really poor in comparison to top 3

I think ... both.

PNG played more like a complete unit (rather than just some guys channelling national pride like they can come across at times) than I think they are usually - and Tonga looked well short of recent showings.

By and large the game was very well officiated by the Ref and the linesmen but that VR decision was bloody awful!

Not only was it a try but the shoulder charge was the only thing that stopped it being an easy put down. It’s either an 8 point Try due to a foul in the act of scoring  or a penalty try and probably a yellow card for the shoulder charge.

Great game though and superb from the PNG team who had 3 try’s disallowed and conceded two wonder try’s

The Kumuls really should have won.

Amazed the video ref ruled out PNG's second half 'try' in the corner.

I think PNG were way better than expected. It was easily the best I've ever seen them play.

IMO he did.

Anyway, absolutely cracking match and what the tournament needed.

Plus I'm happier England meeting PNG  rather than Tonga in the quarters.

I thought on the last angle he looked at, the ball looked like it had touched the line.

As I say though, it wasn't conclusive and if it had been sent up as a try it would probably have been given.

My point is that it was not an easy one for the officials.  I certainly thought he was out on the live call and so I would have sent it up no try and then there just wasn't conclusive evidence to overturn it.
