We might have screened a try here, but there was a good indication of the problems two tackles earlier. McIlorum passed to Williams from the line and Williams had to reach above and behind him for it, which meant there was no attack and the defence was up. Distribution *has* to be better than that from dummy half.

Watch McIlorum in the replay of that Samoa try: it should remind you of the clip of Brandon smith they showed when he Aussies scored yesterday: he was out of it. Complete rubber legs meant he couldn’t play a defensive role.
