For me, only issue with it being in York is it that fans of clubs who are due to play York away in the summer months will likely see it as an either/or choice, affecting the attendance at the Bash or a York home game.

The biggest issue is probably it's more expensive for accomodation and everything else .....it does offer a much classier weekend though so....

I'm 50-50 on York or Blackpool. I would look forward to both equally but for really really different reasons

Anyway...York it is this year and looking forward to it

Kids will do the Railway museum and Jorvik centre instead of the arcades and the beach

Enjoy your weekend away, nice to hear a positive view

Looking forward to the Bash. Never seem the problem with it.

As a champ watcher - it's all good.

York or Blackpool would both be good for different reasons.

Below are the summer bash fixtures according to Gledhill. Make of that what you will.

Batley vs Halifax

Newcastle vs Sheffield

Whitehaven vs Barrow

 Widnes vs Swinton

London vs Toulouse

York vs Fev

Bradford Vs Keighley

Did someone upthread mention that there will be a York women's match as well?

The other Bash fixtures haven't been announced yet (even though the 'full' Championship fixtures were released this afternoon) and won't be until next Tuesday (15th) so not really surprising the full line up hasn't been published by Viaplay.

Well, it's official now L according to RFL bigwigs Viaplay Sports have confirmed that they will cover two fixtures – Toulouse Olympique v London Broncos and York City Knights v Featherstone Rovers.

Yeah and a great City.

Went to University there in mid 90s but not been back since.

Pop to the Ground - wife will watch the odd game and then go shopping, couple of nights out, all good.

Bish, bosh, BASH you might say.

We stay quite often and the difference in hotel prices from Saturday and Sunday is unreal,so we usually stay Sundays. Booking.com usually.

It's York races on the Saturday so hotel prices will be at a premium

Brilliant scheduling then.

Especially as York are playing Saturday evening.
