There's an actual competitive world cup starting tomorrow, watch that.

I see your 'done wasting your energy on it' lasted about 16 minutes.

I think making the women's and wheelchair trophies match the style of the original Rugby World Cup is a great aesthetic/branding choice.

Well, I was thinking...

England and NZ are better than Samoa. I'm not saying England should have won, but maybe they would have given Aus a game.

It's their fault (as they had a terrible game in the sf) and they'll have to work, but we're not so behind.

Moreover, knowing we could have won... hurts more.

Honestly don't agree. England lost to a team that had a player in the bin and lost a player to HIA who was their only specialist hooker and had lost what three starters since the beginning of the cup? Very close the two teams, but full strength Samoa vs full strength England, Samoa win 7/10 times imo...

Not an official World Cup. It'd be nice if they were there, but I can see why not.

Next time I hope.

Only 7 sides have ever won that and 2 of them haven’t won it for 60-80 years and another for over 35.

Only 7 you say. Wow that's terrible. I'll inform the billions of viewers not to bother as realistically there's only 5-7 teams that can win.

Pretty special scenes of all three teams and players out on the field mingling and celebrating together as the Samoans wander around on a lap of honour.

It’s a shame someone didn’t have the foresight to ask the PDRL team to be there as well

great scenes all the same and it’s indicative of the wider appeal and reach that this World Cup has brought to the game

I bet the Old Trafford staff wish they could change the goalposts as quickly as you can.

Subjective

Apparently that is today's word

What did England in the semi was 4 relatively easy games before they played Samoa , their quarter against Tonga readied them for England

Wouldn't have mattered , the Aussies could put together a team the night before and beat whoever else made the final

Anyway I enjoyed the games I went to and will be saving up for 3 years to go to France

Hmm, not sure. England were very bad that day. Both tactically (if it's an English word) and mentally.

I agree that Samoa was understrength and would like to see more of this (new) rivalry.

When England were at their best and Samoa at their lowest, Eng destroyed them.

When England was at their lowest, they went to golden point.

However, Samoa deserved to be through.
