He's certainly not wrong, but it's hardly a new earth shattering development is it.

British rugby league has no pot in which to urinate, says Radford. And this is news?

lets not forget, this is the Sun.

He says what we all know the issues are but says nothing about how they might be resolved, a fairly pointless article.

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous post.

But, lets be honest, Rugby league having no money is really only a well known issue in RL circles; even when RU fans sneer, it is usually only from a class position towards the wealth of the average RL fan. It is important that we don't take things for granted (like England perhaps have done).

England losing to Samoa is a bit shocking for many.

The cap isn´t going up because there is no cash. The money is in internationals and the RFL spent ten years not building up northern hemisphere internationals. Now they will have no choice if the sport wants to grow revenue to sort out the infrastructure at a few clubs. More interestingly, begging Australia was IMG´s idea too and that has got canned so they are certainly going to earn their cash.

Begging Australia to do what?

Isn’t this just what has been said for the last 30 years . Everyone knows the issues it’s the fact that the leadership of the game in this country has been sub P£&s poor for so long.

At club level as well… Radford was part of the issue at Hull for example.

He’s not saying anything new here - just soundbites.

... and we'll make no progress as long as clubs like Leigh, Featherstone, Barrow, York etc are seen by many fans as credible contenders for a place in SL.

Where is the news ?

Absolutely right.

In my career, I have seen many many people who are happy to articulate a problem... real or perceived.

Very few of those people are able to define a clear and practical plan to remedy the situation.

And very few of those have the tenacity to see those plans to fruition.

When you find these people, they are like gold dust.
