I've been watching quite a bit of this year's CFL on YouTube and enjoying it. At first sight, it looks the same, but it isn't. There is a good YT video on the differences, but the key one, IMO, is the 3 downs to make 10 yards. If you don't make 10 on your first 2, basically, you punt. This makes for more frequent changes of possession. Also, the in-goals are huge, which, IMO, makes it a bit easier to throw for a touchdown. CFL is live on BT but the timings don’t really work for most games they show and it is basically invisible outside Canada. Ice hockey is the number one sport in Canada, I believe. Love the octagonal pitch in Montréal. Less teams than the NFL, less players to familiarise yourself with. Rabbits on the pitch at Calgary are always entertaining. They're the equivalent of Rugby League's dogs. Their "minigames" are an improvement on our "golden point". Especially as they don't have the crowds and audience the NFL has. I wonder if a return to 2 Way Football/Platoon would make the game better and save money. I prefer CFL for a number of reasons. It's more open with its wider pitch, more options in backfield, they get on with it a bit quicker, three downs rather than four means you have one less chance to get it right, less teams to familiarise yourself with.
