Introducing the Platinum Club.

Rochdale Hornet 2023 Season Passes now on sale!

Season Passes include all ten home matches in the Betfred League One campaign, with the likes of Ben O’Keefe, Cian Tyrer and Lewis Else recruited to Gary Thornton’s squad, its sure to be an exciting season ahead.

Head Coach Gary Thornton said, “I thought the fans were exceptional last season. The final home game against Oldham and the game at North Wales Crusaders were my favourite for the atmosphere they brought. The fans are the most important part of any club, and we really need that backing this season in greater numbers. If the fans can bring the noise and get behind our young and exciting team, I know we can be successful in 2023”.

Steve Kerr CEO said, “we wanted to offer great value in 2023 and offer the lowest possible prices to our loyal fans. Although we have introduced a small increase to adults with concessions no longer offered, our season passes still represent great value. With operational costs going up, it’s always a balancing act but the commitment from fans is vital to support Gary and the team’s ambitions.

Welcome to the Hornets discussion board. 6 posts on your first day of posting is impressive and keeping us informed presumably from inside the club...long may it continue.

Thanks for the welcome Anita.

Not from inside the club just sharing information already in the public domain via the clubs website and official feeds, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Yes, welcome Northern Union.  I guess your moniker relates to the original name of our semi-pro game, not that other lot?

Unfortunately, at the end of that inaugural season Hornets finished….last.  Hopefully, not an omen!
Perhaps we should copy Champions Manningham, with Chinese umbrellas in our colours?

I fully appreciate the financial situation of the club but everyone is struggling and especially pensioners, so no over 65 concessions is, in my opinion a mistake.

I am a big fan of the current management team at Hornets, and I also understand the financial issues at the club, however there is currently a lot of talk about inclusivity in the sport and the dropping of concessions for older people does seem to be a bit of a   'Dropped Ball'.

I don't know how many age concessions the clubs sell but my personal view is that it is a   'Debt of Honour' to the older generation who may have supported the clubs through the hard times of the past years and may now be managing on a reduced income.

However, I suppose the maxim of ' Do what you've always done, and you will get what you always have had' applies.

Onwards and Upwards the Hornets!

Agreed, i was also surprised at the removal of concession prices for over 65's. However times do change as you quite rightly say.

I recently attended the All Hornets AGM and the current position was made absolutely clear by the clubs Chairman who attended the meeting. With such small numbers and a largely aging fan base i can only presume the club feels it needs to get that little bit more support from its majority and hardcore to help sustain it through difficult times. I don't begrudge that personally and I guess the choice is clear, we either buy one and help in engaging others to do so which gives the club a chance to move forward, or don't and risk losing it.

I am taking a view that a season ticket is my opportunity to do my bit for the club as it needs me. At £150.00 for ten games of professional rugby league and ten afternoons of entertainment in this day and age it is decent enough value IMO.

Thanks Glem. That is indeed correct. Northern Rugby Football Union seemed like a long winded username so i kept it short and sweet 😃
